Part-Time Assistant Estimator
Whisperts Acoustics, Inc.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Assistant Estimator to support our Head Estimator in preparing accurate and competitive bids for commercial acoustic treatment projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience in construction estimating, preferably within commercial interiors, architectural finishes, or specialty subcontracting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Estimator with reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents.
Perform accurate material quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and other estimating tools.
Prepare cost estimates for acoustic wall panels, acoustic ceilings, fabric-wrapped panels, PET panels, and related specialty systems.
Assist in preparing bid proposals, pricing breakdowns, and scope of work documents.
Review addenda, revisions, and updated drawings to identify changes affecting project pricing.
Contact manufacturers and suppliers to obtain material pricing, lead times, and technical information.
Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential issues in project documents.
Support bid submissions, value engineering, and estimate revisions.
Maintain organized estimating files, bid trackers, and project documentation.
Coordinate directly with the Head Estimator to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of bids.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in commercial construction estimating.
Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and reading architectural drawings.
Familiarity with commercial interior finishes and acoustic treatment systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently while following the Head Estimator's guidance.
This is a part-time support position. The Assistant Estimator will work directly under our Head Estimator, helping manage estimating workloads, improve bid turnaround times, and support the continued growth of Whisperts Acoustics.
