(25 Brand Mgr Opportunity) 1st: Social Media Promoter — The NYC Classifieds

About the Role

The NYC Classifieds is a free, verified classifieds and community platform built exclusively for New York City — combining Classifieds (housing, jobs, for sale, services, gigs, and more), The Porch (a neighborhood community board), and Alerts (instant notifications for matching listings). Every user is verified with a selfie and GPS check at signup, so it's positioned as the scam-free, real-neighbors alternative to Craigslist and Nextdoor.

We're pre-launch and opening to the public once we hit 10,000 verified signups — we're already getting organic demand from NYC realtors and business owners who want in early. We're hiring a Social Media Promoter to drive that growth hard, starting now.

This is a performance-driven role with real growth targets and real bonus money attached. If you're someone who's genuinely active on social media every day and knows how to get people talking, this is a great opportunity to earn well above standard rates.

Responsibilities
Post content — Create and post regularly across Twitter /X, Reddit, Facebook , Instagram, and TikTok, introducing NYC Classifieds and driving traffic to our signup page.
Comment on relevant posts — Engage genuinely in NYC-focused threads, subreddits (r/nyc, r/AskNYC, borough-specific subs), Facebook groups, and local hashtags — helpful, real comments that naturally introduce the platform, not spam.
Promote the platform — Reach out to local NYC accounts, community pages, and creators for shoutouts, collabs, and cross-promotion.
All signups must be genuine New York City residents (five boroughs) who complete our verification. You'll be given a unique referral link to use in all your posts and outreach so your signups are tracked and credited to you.
Weekly Signup Targets

This role has real growth targets — it's a free, 60-second signup, so we expect real momentum from day one:

Week 1: 100 signups
Week 2: 250 signups
Week 3: 500 signups
Week 4: 1,000 signups

Targets are reviewed and adjusted together based on real performance after the first month.

Compensation
Base pay: $100 USD/week
Milestone bonuses (one-time, cumulative verified NYC signups):
100 signups → $25
500 signups → $75
1,000 signups → $150
2,500 signups → $300
5,000 signups → $500
10,000 signups (our launch threshold!) → $1,000
Paid weekly via Stripe to your local bank.
Accounts

You'll create your posting accounts (Twitter /X, Reddit, Facebook , Instagram, TikTok) using an email address we provide — this keeps all growth and content under the company, not a personal account.

What We're Looking For
Fluent written English with a natural, conversational social media voice (not corporate-sounding)
Daily active experience on Twitter /X, Reddit, Facebook , Instagram, and TikTok — you understand the etiquette and culture of each platform
Prior experience in social media management, community management, or online outreach
Self-starter, comfortable hitting real weekly targets with minimal hand-holding
Bonus: familiarity with NYC neighborhoods/culture, or experience growing a local/community-focused brand
Bonus: basic content creation skills (Canva, CapCut, or similar)

All you're going to do is be on social media: Reddit, Twitter , Facebook , Instagram, and obviously TikTok. You're going to create an account for each one to promote the brand. After you create these accounts, they will be owned by us. We are paying you to create the accounts and do the promotion. If and when this contract comes to an end, we expect login access to all of them before final payment is released, as we are paying to invest in you creating these social media accounts for us.
