About the Role

Summary
**Remote | California Lemon Law Firm | Full-Time

** We are a California law firm focused on lemon law and consumer protection litigation, and we are looking for a licensed attorney to join our team as a Case Manager.

This is a hands-on position for an attorney who can manage cases, communicate directly with clients, stay on top of deadlines, and move cases forward from intake through settlement.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage an assigned caseload from intake/retainer through settlement or resolution.
  • Communicate directly with clients, provide case updates, answer routine questions, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Request, review, and organize documents and evidence from clients.
  • Review purchase documents, repair orders, warranty records, service history, manufacturer communications, and other case-related documents.
  • Analyze case facts and identify missing information, potential issues, and case strengths/weaknesses.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, meet-and-confer correspondence, declarations, motions, settlement documents, and other case-related correspondence.
  • Prepare and file documents with the court and assist with e-filing as needed.
  • Track case deadlines, hearings, discovery obligations, settlement deadlines, and other important dates.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and other members of the team.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and case-management records.
  • Follow cases closely and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Escalate significant legal or case issues when attorney review or strategy decisions are needed.

What We’re Looking For **Required:**

  • An active attorney license in good standing.
  • Experience handling lemon law cases OR civil litigation.
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and client-management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Professional, responsive, and comfortable communicating directly with clients.

Preferred

  • Direct California lemon law experience.
  • Experience handling cases from intake through settlement.
  • Experience with pleadings, discovery, motions, settlement negotiations, and court filings.
  • Experience using case-management software such as Filevine.
  • Experience working in a remote law-firm environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who can own their cases rather than simply complete individual assignments. You should be comfortable communicating with clients, reviewing documents, drafting legal work, managing deadlines, coordinating with the team, and keeping a case moving without needing to be reminded about every next step. If you have lemon law experience, that's a strong advantage. If you have solid civil litigation experience and can learn the firm's lemon law process, we are also interested in speaking with you.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and a brief introduction explaining your relevant lemon law or civil litigation experience.

Important

Read Before Applying To confirm that you have read the entire job posting, include the title and author of the latest book you've read in the subject line of your application. Applications that do not include the code word may not be considered.
