About the Role

Remote | Full-Time
NZ-based Construction Company
We are a growing NZ-based residential construction company looking to add an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to our team. This role focuses on pricing new residential tenders, managing variations, and supporting projects with accurate cost planning and progress tracking through to completion.
We are particularly looking for someone with genuine NZ and/or Australian residential construction experience, who is highly organised, communicates clearly and often, and can be trusted to own their work. If you hit a snag or aren't sure about something, we want to hear about it early — not find out further down the track when it's too late to fix.
If you take pride in accuracy, enjoy detailed estimating work, and want to be part of a business that values good systems, clear processes, and people who speak up, this role will suit you well.

About the Role
You’ll be responsible for pricing residential projects end-to-end, working closely with our NZ-based team to support upcoming work, and helping keep project cost tracking and admin on top of things once tenders are won.

Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Tendering
Pricing residential tenders from concept through to submission
Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and consultant documentation
Requesting, tracking, and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotes
Preparing detailed estimating sheets, tender summaries, and cost breakdowns
Identifying cost risks, gaps, and opportunities early in the pricing process
Ensuring tender documentation is accurate, consistent, and well organised
Project & Cost Support
Preparing and tracking progress claims against contract value as projects proceed
Maintaining and updating our supplier/subcontractor pricing list
Supporting project cost administration in Xero/Procore (loading projects, checking invoices against quotes)
Helping collect supporting documentation from consultants and subcontractors where needed
Communication
Providing regular, proactive progress updates on workload and tender timelines
Raising issues, blockers, or uncertainties as soon as they come up — we'd much rather hear "I'm stuck on this" early than find out later.

Who We’re Looking For
You’ll naturally align with a structured, detail-driven way of working:
Detail-focused and accurate – you don’t miss things

Highly organised – you work methodically and meet deadlines

Comfortable working remotely – disciplined, reliable, and self-managed

Process driven – and can meet targets and work schedules consistently.

Accountability – You take responsibility not only for the task but more importantly the outcome. Take ownership of your pricing outputs.

Proactive communicator - You can proactively communicate with all team members in order to understand conditions and situations and you report proactively to team members and management where required.

Strong written and verbal English communication skills

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Why Join Us
