Remote Video Editor – Social Media & Events
Confidential employer
SipTales is a growing Australian mocktail and event-service business based in Sydney. We specialise in weddings, nikkahs, engagements, birthdays, corporate events, bridal showers and other celebrations.
We’re looking for a creative and reliable video editor based in the Philippines to help turn our event and social media footage into engaging short-form content.
The role will initially be freelance/gig-based, with approximately 2–3 videos per week. As our content output grows, there is potential for this to develop into consistent part-time work.
What You’ll Be Editing
The content will vary from video to video, but the main types will be:
1. Talking Head / Business Videos
Videos introducing new SipTales services, products and packages, or explaining different parts of the business.
Example:

2. Event Edits & Montages
Engaging or cinematic edits showcasing events we have served, including:
- Wedding mornings
- Nikkahs
- Engagements
- Birthdays
- Corporate events
- Bridal showers
- Other private events
Example:

3. BTS / Trend / Fun Content
More casual behind-the-scenes content, trending Reels/TikToks, team videos and other personality-driven content.

There will also be opportunities to work on other styles of content as SipTales grows.
What the Work Will Involve
You will generally be responsible for:
- Reviewing raw footage and selecting the best clips
- Cutting/chopping footage into engaging short-form videos
- Creating good pacing and maintaining viewer attention
- Colour correcting and colour grading footage
- Adding captions/subtitles
- Adding text animations and graphics where appropriate
- Adding sound effects and other audio effects
- Selecting and syncing music
- Adding transitions and video effects where they improve the edit
- Following reference videos and SipTales' existing editing style
- Making revisions based on feedback
- Returning the completed Premiere Pro / After Effects project files with each project
Most videos will be produced for platforms such as Instagram Reels and TikTok, so an understanding of short-form social content is important.
Creative Input
Some videos will come with fairly clear direction and references from us.
For others, we would love an editor who can bring their own creative ideas to the project.
If you think a different song, hook, transition, sound effect, editing concept or structure would make the video better, we are absolutely open to your suggestions.
We want someone who can follow direction when required but also has the creative judgement to create an edit rather than simply putting clips together.
Footage & Equipment Requirements
Most of our footage is filmed on a Sony ZV-E1, generally in 4K 60fps.
You will therefore need a computer capable of comfortably editing and exporting this footage.
Footage and project files will primarily be transferred through Google Drive.
Preferred Editing Software
We ideally want someone who works within the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects where required
Adobe is what we currently use internally, so this will make project collaboration and handover much easier.
Bonus Skills
These are not required, but are a big plus:
- Adobe Lightroom for editing photos
- Canva for graphics and Instagram carousels
- After Effects / motion graphics
- Experience editing event or wedding content
- Experience editing hospitality, food or beverage content
- Understanding current Instagram and TikTok trends
- Basic graphic design skills
- Ability to create engaging hooks and storytelling from raw footage
Turnaround Times
Turnaround time will depend on the type and complexity of each video.
A simple Reel may require a relatively quick turnaround, while a more involved event montage or effects-heavy video may have a longer deadline.
Deadlines will be agreed upon when each project is assigned.
Working Hours
There are no fixed working hours and you do not need to work Australian business hours.
You can work when it suits you as long as:
- Communication is reliable
- Agreed deadlines are met
- You are reasonably responsive when revisions or questions come up
English Requirements
You do not need perfect English.
Your English simply needs to be strong enough for clear back-and-forth communication, understanding briefs, discussing ideas, asking questions and making revisions based on feedback.
Pay
Pay is negotiable based on your experience, editing ability and portfolio quality.
We are open to either:
- Hourly rates, or
- A fixed rate per video/project
We can discuss which arrangement works best depending on the type of content and your preferred way of working.
As our content requirements grow, there is potential for this freelance role to develop into more consistent part-time work.
Paid Test Edit
After reviewing applications and portfolios, shortlisted applicants may be offered a paid test edit using footage supplied by SipTales.
This will allow us to see how you:
- Interpret our footage and brief
- Select clips
- Structure a video
- Handle pacing
- Colour grade footage
- Use music and sound design
- Create captions and effects
- Apply your own creative judgement
The test edit will be paid. We are not looking for applicants to complete free work.
Who We're Looking For
Ideally, you are someone who:
- Has a strong eye for pacing and storytelling
- Understands what makes short-form content engaging
- Can produce clean, modern and polished edits
- Doesn't unnecessarily over-edit videos
- Can follow reference videos and creative direction
- Is also comfortable contributing your own creative ideas
- Has good judgement when choosing music, clips and effects
- Can work independently once given a brief
- Communicates reliably
- Meets agreed deadlines
- Is receptive to feedback and revisions
- Takes pride in the quality of the final video
- Is interested in potentially working with SipTales long-term
How to Apply
Please send us:
1. A short introduction about yourself and your video editing experience.
2. Examples of videos you have edited that are similar to the three types of content shown above.
If you don't have directly comparable work, simply send us 2–5 examples of your best work.
3. The software you primarily edit with.
4. Your preferred pricing structure and expected rate – hourly, per video
5. Your general weekly availability.
6. Your usual turnaround time for a standard 30–60 second Reel/TikTok.
Important
You do not need to have edited mocktail content before.
We're much more interested in finding someone with a strong editing eye, good creative judgement and the ability to understand references and adapt to the SipTales style.
We're looking for someone we can build a good working relationship with rather than simply finding an editor for one project.
