Construction Estimator (US Glazing Specialist)

We are seeking a precision-driven Construction Estimator specializing in Glazing to significantly accelerate our project bidding output. Working directly with the business owner and lead Project Manager, you will translate complex architectural plans into comprehensive cost-estimation models for high-end luxury residential homes and competitive commercial contracts.
This role is ideal for a self-motivated technical professional who understands the direct relationship between highly accurate material take-offs and overall project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Plan Take-Offs: Perform complete, highly precise quantity take-offs directly from digital blueprints, structural drawings, and technical building specifications.
Bidding & Cost Analysis: Build comprehensive, itemized project bids—providing accurate unit and total counts for specialized glazing panels, structural hardware, machinery, and installation equipment.
Material & Supplier Sourcing: Coordinate with regional suppliers to request pricing updates, verify lead times, and cross-check manufacturing specifications against project plans.
Pipeline Tracking: Systematically maintain and log active bid stages, submission deadlines, and estimator notes in internal reporting databases.
Job RequirementsNon-Negotiable Core Requirements
Glazing & Structural Expertise: Minimum 3+ years of formal experience as a Construction Estimator, with specific expertise in glazing, fenestration, facade engineering, or commercial fit-outs.
Estimation Software Mastery: Deep functional literacy with digital take-off platforms, specifically Bluebeam Revu/Extreme, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), or PlanSwift.
Advanced Spreadsheet Modeling: Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets for pricing formulations, custom estimation formulas, and cost build-ups.
Blueprint Literacy: Proven experience reading and interpreting complex architectural drawings, structural details, and technical scope documents.
Education & International Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related technical field is highly regarded.
Overseas Client Exposure: Demonstrated history supporting overseas clients and regional construction market standards (Australian, US, or European standards preferred).
