Visual Design Lead (Remote, Full-Time)

Company: ----------
Work Setup: Remote | Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Timezone Preference: Overlap with US business hours | Eastern Time (at least 3–4 hours)

We are ---------- , a new and growing marketing agency focused on helping local businesses thrive. As we build our core team, we are looking for a talented, detail-oriented, and creative Visual Design Lead to become the foundation of our visual brand.

This is a long-term, full-time remote role with significant growth potential. You will play a critical role in translating our brand voice and marketing strategy into clear, compelling, and conversion-focused visuals across all platforms.
This is not a “task-only” design role. We are looking for someone who thinks in systems, consistency, and outcomes, not just aesthetics.

What Success Looks Like in This Role (First 90 Days):
Our brand visuals feel cohesive, recognizable, and professional across all channels.
Core Canva templates are finalized and actively used by the team.
Social and ad creatives are delivered on time, on-brand, and iteration-ready.
Video content has a consistent visual style optimized for short-form platforms.
Founder communication becomes more strategic because execution is reliable.

Your Responsibilities:
Own and develop our visual brand identity. You will define, document, and maintain our color palette, typography, imagery style, and visual standards to ensure brand consistency across all assets.
Design high-impact marketing assets. This includes social media graphics (carousels, banners, posts), audit reports, presentation decks, digital ad creatives, and simple website graphics used across internal and client-facing touchpoints.
Build and manage reusable design systems. You will create scalable templates, asset libraries, and design frameworks in Canva to improve speed, quality, and repeatability.
Produce short-form video content. You will edit and produce Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok videos, handling clean cuts, text overlays, captions, and basic motion graphics.
Collaborate directly with the founder. You will translate concepts, briefs, and strategic direction into finished visuals while proactively suggesting improvements and creative ideas.
Prepare for future team leadership. As the company grows, you may help onboard, review, and guide junior designers to maintain standards and output quality.

Must-Have Requirements:
Portfolio is REQUIRED. Applications without a portfolio link will not be considered. Your portfolio must show social media graphics, brand identity work, and at least basic video samples.
Expert-level proficiency in Canva, plus strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Strong short-form video editing skills using CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar tools.
Excellent visual judgment. You understand layout, spacing, hierarchy, typography, color theory, and can explain your design choices.
Clear written English communication skills. You can give and receive feedback professionally.
Highly dependable and self-managed. You meet deadlines, organize your workload, and communicate blockers early.
Stable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.

Nice-to-Haves:
Experience in a marketing agency, startup, or fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with Webflow, Framer, or WordPress.
Understanding of creative performance for LinkedIn, Facebook , and Instagram ads and organic posts.
Experience creating or following brand guidelines.

Work Style & Expectations:
You are comfortable working remotely with minimal hand-holding.
You value brand consistency over personal style.
You are open to feedback and iteration.
You think in terms of systems, templates, and scalability, not one-off designs.
You communicate progress clearly and proactively.

Growth & Opportunities:
Opportunity to become Head of Design as the company scales.
Increased ownership and leadership responsibilities over time.
Long-term role in shaping a growing brand from the ground up.
