About the Role

Read this entire post before applying. If you skim it, you will fail the application in the first five seconds and we will both have wasted our time. That is not a threat — it's a favor. This job is not for most people, and I'd rather you find that out now.

WHAT THIS JOB ACTUALLY IS
We are a Swedish e-commerce company running several brands. Every brand gets customer email s every day, and every one of them needs a correct answer the same day. Forever.

Your job: clear the support inboxes every day. Different brands, different languages, the same questions over and over:

"Where is my delivery?"
Order not received.
Product not as expected.
Returns and exchanges.
General questions about the brand.

The email s are boring. The job is not. Here is what a normal day actually looks like:

Open the inboxes. Look each order up in Shopify. Find the tracking. Reply in the customer's language using DeepL, following our reply guide.
When tracking has been dead for a week, you do not tell the customer "please wait." You message our shipping agents in China, get an answer, and then tell the customer what is actually happening and when.
When a customer opens a dispute with their bank, you collect the evidence — order, tracking, delivery proof, your email thread — and submit it to the payment provider. Before the deadline. Without being reminded.
When the same problem shows up three times in one week, you write it down and tell us. Once, with numbers.

The tools: Shopify admin, email , DeepL, the carriers' tracking pages, the payment provider's dispute portal, and a chat with our China agents. We teach you all of it in week one.

THE ONE THING THIS JOB IS REALLY ABOUT
We are in Sweden and we spend our days running ads. We are not going to sit next to you. If you message us "what should I do?" three times a day, this job has failed — for both of us.

The rule is simple. Before anything reaches us, you have already tried to solve it. When it still has to reach us, it arrives like this — four lines, nothing else:

The problem: Order 4471, tracking dead for 11 days, customer threatening a chargeback.
What I already did: Checked the carrier page, asked the China agent on Monday and again on Wednesday, no reply.
What I propose: Offer a replacement now, refund only if there is no scan by Friday.
What I need from you: A yes or a no.

That is the whole job in four lines. Anyone can answer "where is my order" when the tracking works. I am hiring the person who knows what to do when it doesn't — and who d ---------- first and asks second.

Quick question, and I mean it: a customer writes in Danish, and DeepL is down for the whole day. What do you do? Put your answer on the very last line of your application, after everything else. You'll see why below.

WHAT WE ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT, IN THIS EXACT ORDER
1. You show up. Every single day, Saturday and Sunday included. Not "most days." Not "I had internet problems." Every day.
2. The inbox is cleared inside your window, every day. Nothing sits for more than 24 hours without a reply.
3. You d ---------- first and ask second. Every time something reaches us, it comes with your proposed solution.
4. You stay. We are building a team, not renting an assistant for two months.
5. Your English and your tone are good enough — and get better.

Notice that skill is fifth on this list. That is not a mistake. We can teach you our brands, our reply guide, our shipping, our tone — we have a whole system for it, and the person who reads this carefully and types "lingon" as the first word of the subject line when applying is already showing me the exact trait I'm hiring for. It is not mentioned in the subject line structure below, but it is supposed to be the first word, then the structure. What we cannot teach is a person who opens the inbox every single day for the next two years, weekends included, and who would rather make a decision than wait for one.

HOURS — READ THIS PART HONESTLY
This is work on demand. There is no fixed shift and no fixed number of hours. The rule is simpler than that: the inbox is cleared every day, 7 days a week, inside 10:00–17:00 Swedish time. If you are in the Philippines, that window is 16:00–23:00 (17:00–00:00 in winter). You d ---------- when inside it. Some days that takes 30 minutes. Some days it takes 2 hours. Weekends are usually lighter. They are never optional.

You log the hours you actually work, and you are paid for them. Right now that is roughly 1–2 hours a day. More hours come with more brands and more tasks, on demand, not on a schedule. For the person who clears the inbox every single day, this grows towards 5–8 hours a day. That is a direction, not a promise, and I'd rather say so.

If you cannot open the inbox every single day, including weekends, do not apply. That is the entire job.

PAY — READ THIS PART SLOWLY
Hourly rate, paid twice a month, on time, every time. We have never missed a payment and we never will.

The rate ladder, in writing:

Start: $2.50 USD per hour.
After 1 month: $3.00 USD per hour.
After 3 months: $3.50 USD per hour.
After 6 months: $4.00 USD per hour.

Every step is automatic if you are still clearing the inbox every day. It goes into your agreement on day one. You will never have to ask me for a raise, and I will never "forget." The first raise comes after ONE month. Not six. Not "we'll see." One month.

On top of that:

$20 USD consistency bonus every month you open the inbox on every single day with zero missed days. This is the easiest money in the job, and it is entirely within your control.
$3 USD per Trustpilot review. Every 4- or 5-star review from a real customer that mentions you by name. Uncapped, and this is the real upside. A customer who was angry on Monday and names you in a 5-star review on Thursday is exactly the job, and you get paid for it every time it happens. Each review is matched to a real order before it is paid.

One line on that, because it matters: you never ask a customer for a rating, you never offer a customer anything for a review, and you never write one yourself. One fake, bought or nudged review and the seat is gone the same day. The reviews you get paid for are the ones you earned by fixing the problem so well that the customer wanted to say your name.

You are paid for the hours you actually work, not for counting email s. Some days the inbox is six email s and thirty minutes. Some days it is forty email s and a dispute deadline. Either way, the day is cleared.

WHAT COUNTS AS DONE
Every customer email that arrived before 17:00 Swedish time is answered the same day, in the customer's language, following the reply guide, with the order looked up in Shopify. Every dispute is answered before its deadline. Anything that reaches us comes in the four-line format above. Not a taste judgment. If I send something back, I tell you exactly why in one sentence, and it counts once you fix it.

WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY
Please save us both the time. Do not apply if:

You cannot open the inbox every single day, Saturday and Sunday included.
Your internet is unreliable and you have no backup connection.
You have no plan for brownouts or power cuts.
You need someone to tell you what to do for each email .
You take angry customers personally, or argue with them.
You have never used Shopify admin. Not "seen it" — used it.
You want to negotiate the rate upward before you've proven a single month.
You are looking for a placeholder while you search for something better.
You want the "future tasks" at the bottom of this post to be the job now. They come after months of a cleared inbox, not before.

I'm not being harsh for fun. I'd rather describe the job exactly than lose a good person who wanted a different one.

HOW TO APPLY — THIS IS THE FIRST TEST
Ninety percent of applicants will get this wrong. That's the point.

1. Subject line, formatted EXACTLY like this:
| [most customer email s you have ever answered in ONE day] | [years using Shopify admin] | [hours/day you can work] | [days/week you can work] | [your download speed from speedtest.net]

Example: XXXXXX | 45 | 2 | 2 | 7 | 40mbps

Wrong format or a missing field — deleted unread. No exceptions, no second chances.

2. Your message must contain these eight things, in this order, and nothing else:

Line 1 — The most customer email s you have ever answered in a single day. For which store, and what kind of tickets. One or two real sentences. Generic answers are deleted.

Your setup — Computer and specs. Internet provider and speed. Backup internet. What you do when the power goes out. Be specific and boring. "I have good internet" is a failed answer.

Longevity — The longest you have ever stayed in one role or with one client. How long, and why it ended. Be honest. A short history with an honest reason beats an inflated one.

The reply — Reply to this customer in English, exactly as you would send it, maximum 120 words: "Hi, I ordered 12 days ago and nothing has arrived. Nobody answers. I want my money back." No order number was given, and you cannot find the customer by their email address. Your reply is your portfolio.

The escalation — An order shipped from China 16 days ago. Tracking has said "in transit" for 9 days. The China agent has not answered for 48 hours. The customer says she will call her bank tomorrow. Write the message you would send me, in the four-line format from this post. Maximum 8 lines in total. If you write more than that, you have failed this part.

One honest answer — What would make you quit this job? Everyone has a breaking point. Tell me yours. I trust the person who names it far more than the person who says "nothing."

Shopify — The first thing you open in Shopify admin when a customer says the package hasn't arrived, and what you look at there.

Last line — The answer to the question I asked you earlier in this post. If it isn't there, you didn't read the post. If it is, I already know two things about you.
