Squarespace Web Designer/Developer + SEO & Digital Content Specialist

I’m looking for a highly capable, proactive person to help me manage and grow the digital presence of Wholeness Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine, a solo health and wellness practice based in Texas.

My work spans functional/integrative medicine, acupuncture, nervous-system health, somatic coaching, mind-body work, and personal growth. I want to create more educational content and expand my reach, particularly on the functional medicine side of my practice, without personally becoming responsible for website development, video editing, publishing, or digital production.

I’m looking for someone who can take ownership of that side of the business.

What you’ll be responsible for:
Squarespace website design & development
You should be genuinely proficient in Squarespace.
You’ll help me:
Build and redesign pages
Add new services and sections
Update branding, logos, images, copy, navigation, and site structure
Create pages that are visually beautiful, clear, modern, and cohesive
Make sure the site works well on desktop and mobile
Use custom CSS/code when appropriate
Troubleshoot Squarespace issues and integrations
Embed video and other media correctly
Identify website improvements I may not know to ask for

The website should help the right people find my work, understand what I offer, trust me, and take the next step. I also highly value aesthetics and brand alignment.

SEO & digital visibility

You’ll help improve the website’s search performance and overall digital discoverability, including:

On-page SEO
Local SEO
Google Search Console
Google Analytics
Google Business Profile
Page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links, and image optimization
Site structure and indexing
Basic technical SEO
Page performance where it can reasonably be improved within Squarespace
Structured data/schema where appropriate
Understanding and implementing current best practices for AI/AEO/GEO search visibility
Identifying useful content/search opportunities
You do not need to be an elite SEO strategist, but you should understand SEO well enough to competently maintain and improve an established small-business website and recognize when specialist help is warranted.

Video editing & content production

I plan to create educational video content regularly. I want to be able to record something and hand it off.
You should be comfortable:
Editing raw talking-head/educational videos
Cleaning audio and removing unnecessary sections
Preserving my voice and meaning
Preparing polished long-form YouTube videos
Creating thumbnails, titles, descriptions, captions, chapters, etc.
Uploading and scheduling through YouTube Studio
Finding strong sections of longer videos and turning them into YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels
Formatting content correctly for different platforms
Embedding relevant videos on my website
Helping repurpose useful content into website articles, FAQs, or other digital assets when appropriate
Because some of my content relates to health, accuracy matters. I want someone who knows when to ask rather than materially changing something I have said.

The way you work matters as much as your technical skills

I am a solo practitioner with many ideas and limited interest in managing digital production.
I’m specifically looking for someone who:
Takes ownership rather than waiting for detailed instructions
Notices what needs attention
Keeps track of projects and next steps
Anticipates what they need from me
Follows up when I am holding something up
Can batch questions and requests rather than sending me a constant stream of messages
Brings solutions and recommendations, not just problems
Has excellent follow-through
Communicates clearly and directly
Is highly reliable

Genuine emergencies, outages, and unexpected life events happen. What matters to me is having reasonable contingency plans, communicating proactively, and consistently following through on commitments.

I do not want someone who needs me to create and manage a detailed task list for them every day.

Ideal background

Strong candidates will have real experience with:
Squarespace website design/development
Excellent visual design and UX judgment
SEO and search visibility
Video editing, particularly educational or talking-head content
YouTube publishing and content repurposing
Working independently with a small-business owner or entrepreneur
Experience with health, wellness, coaching, or professional-service businesses is helpful but not required.

Work arrangement

Part-time and remote.
Approximately 5–10 hours/week to start, with the possibility of increasing hours over time.
Flexible schedule, although some reasonable communication overlap with U.S. Central Time is helpful.
Compensation: $7–$10 USD/hour depending on experience, skill level, and demonstrated ability.

This is intended to be a long-term working relationship with the right person.
