Video Editor for Health & Science YouTube Channel (Long-Form + Shorts)

I run a YouTube/TikTok channel about craniofacial development, jaw health, and airway topics - a mix of personal-journey documentation, educational breakdowns, and a podcast. The audience is smart and knows the subject, so the editing has to be clean and clear, not flashy for its own sake.

I'm looking for one editor to become my go-to person for this channel long-term.

WHAT YOU'D BE DOING

• Editing long-form YouTube videos (10-25 min) from raw footage and my notes
• Cutting 3-6 vertical shorts out of each long-form video for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Editing podcast episodes (multicam, two people)
• Clean captions/subtitles, basic motion graphics, simple B-roll and image overlays
• Light color correction and audio cleanup
• Keeping project files organized so nothing gets lost

WHAT I NEED FROM YOU

• Real experience editing YouTube content, not just wedding or corporate work
• Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut (tell me which one you use)
• After Effects is a plus, not a requirement
• Good pacing instincts - you know when to cut a pause and when to let a moment sit
• Comfortable with medical and anatomical terms on screen, and spelling them correctly
• Reliable communication and honest deadlines. If something will be late, I want to hear it early.
• Stable internet for large file transfers (Google Drive / ---------- )

HOURS AND PAY
$5/hour, part-time, around 20 hours per week to start. Hours can grow with volume for the right person.

Shortlisted applicants will be given a small paid test edit ($5) before a video interview. Reference clips are provided at the test stage so you can see the look and feel I'm going for. I pay for your time either way.
