About the Role

Hey! I'm Giovanni. I run TechGio, a YouTube channel about tech sales, AI, and building a startup. I'm looking for one talented long-form editor to grow the channel with me. If you love clean, premium talking-head content and you're excited about tech and AI, this one's for you.

THE QUICK VERSION

  • What: Long-form YouTube only. Talking-head + screen recordings. No Shorts.
  • How many: 2–3 videos a week (8–12 a month once we're rolling)
  • Pay: $50–$100 per video based on experience and quality. Roughly $500–$1,000+/month, with raises as your work speaks for itself.
  • Turnaround: First cut within 48 hours of getting footage.
  • Where: Fully remote. I'm in Houston, Texas. You can be anywhere.
  • Channel: ----------

ABOUT THE CHANNEL

TechGio started as me documenting my own path into tech sales and helping people break in with no experience. I'm an enterprise account executive at a tech company, and that's still the heart of the channel: what the job is really like, earnings breakdowns, day-in-the-life.

Now it's growing. I'm going deeper into AI and the tech industry (new model releases, the tools I actually use, what's changing and what it means for you). And I'm building my own startup on the side, so I'll be sharing the founder journey while working full-time.

I've worked with an editor before and it went great. Now I want more videos, more polish, and one editor who becomes a true long-term partner. Someone who grows with the channel and wins when it wins. Hopefully that's you!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

I batch-film. You get raw footage (Sony A7 IV), screen recordings, and a short brief with the hook, structure, and the moments I want to hit. Then you run the edit:

  • Cut it tight. Trim dead air and bad takes, keep the energy up. Retention is the whole game.
  • On-screen text and captions. Callouts, key numbers, lists. Sharp and well-timed. This is a big part of the style.
  • Simple, polished motion. Diagrams for AI concepts, tool and UI highlights, clean transitions. Think Jeff Su, not MrBeast.
  • Screen recording polish. Zooms, cursor highlights, blur anything sensitive.
  • Music, sound design, and clean dialogue audio.
  • Color, final export, and organized project files.
  • Quick revisions from my timestamped notes. Usually one round.

THE STANDARD

Watch a couple of these before you apply so we're on the same page:

  • Jeff Su: ---------- (the golden example: clean, tight, sharp text, subtle motion, never overdone)
  • Liam Ottley: ---------- (clear diagrams and callouts that make AI simple)
  • Dan Martell: ---------- (bold text, strong pacing, premium feel)

If you watched those and thought "I can edit at that level," keep reading.

WHO I'M LOOKING FOR

  • You've edited long-form YouTube talking-head content before, ideally for tech, business, or productivity channels, and you have published videos to prove it.
  • Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, plus After Effects or similar. You make text and motion look premium.
  • You use AI in your workflow. Descript, auto-captions, the AI features in your editor, whatever works for you. My whole operation runs that way.
  • You're into tech and AI, or genuinely curious about it. It shows in the edit when the editor cares.
  • Fast and reliable. If something's going to slip, I hear about it before it does. I'll always do the same for you.
  • Coachable and hungry. I give clear feedback and I'm easy to work with.
  • Fluent English. We'll work mostly async on Slack or WhatsApp.

One honest ask: please don't apply if you're just getting started or if your portfolio is mostly Shorts, gaming, or event videos. Nothing wrong with that work, it's just not this role. I need someone who can hit a high bar from day one.

WHAT YOU GET

  • Steady, consistent work. 8–12 videos a month.
  • Raises tied to quality. Good work gets rewarded here, I truly mean that.
  • Tools covered. Software, plugins, stock music, assets. If you need it to do the job well, I'm happy to help pay for it.
  • Room to grow. As the channel and the startup take off, there's going to be a lot more to make. You get first look at all of it.
  • A real voice. I want your ideas on pacing, hooks, and style. You're a creative partner here, not just a pair of hands.

HOW TO APPLY

Start your message with the word "Mission" so I know you read the whole thing. Then send me:

1. 3 links to long-form YouTube videos you edited, and exactly what you did on each.
2. Your tools, including which AI tools you use.
3. How many 10–15 minute videos per week you can realistically deliver, and your usual first-cut turnaround.
4. Your rate per video.

The strongest applicants get a paid test edit before we commit to anything, so you get paid either way.

I need portfolio links to consider you, so please don't skip those. Can't wait to see what you've made and hopefully build something great together!

— Giovanni
