About Us

On Site Contracting is a commercial general contractor in the United States (Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia). We build ground-ups and fit-outs for business owners - franchisees and independent operators. We operate as a "paper GC": we don't self-perform, we coordinate the best subcontractors on every trade. That means accurate takeoffs and fast, clean sub outreach are the backbone of our business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Read and interpret US commercial construction drawings - architectural, structural, MEP - plus specs and detail sheets
• Do full callouts and takeoffs by trade (demo, framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, millwork, finishes, fire protection, etc.)
• Build clean scope sheets/bid packages for each trade so subs know exactly what they're pricing
• Contact potential subcontractors, send them the scope and drawings, and chase them until we have real numbers back
• Track incoming bids, level them side by side, and flag gaps, exclusions, and anything missing from the drawings
• Report findings back in a clear, organized format we can price a job from

Immediate Work

We have two commercial restaurant remodels inside a strip plaza that need to be estimated and priced ASAP. This is your first assignment, and it starts this week. Move fast and accurately on these and there is a lot more behind them.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience reading drawings for projects located in the United States. This is non-negotiable. US plan sets, US trade standards, US terminology.
• Proven experience doing callouts/takeoffs and soliciting pricing from subcontractors
• Comfortable email ing and calling US-based subs and following up until you get a number
• Strong written English
• Able to work US Eastern Time hours when needed for sub follow-up
• Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar - tell us what you use
• Reliable internet and the ability to start immediately

The Arrangement

• Starts as project-based work, beginning with the two restaurant remodels
• Strong performance turns this into a full-time position within 60-90 days
• Rate: $5-10 per hour based on experience. Higher end for project-based work; lower end if/when this converts to full-time. First assignment is likely about 20-30 hours this week.
