About the Role

ABOUT DIGILARI MEDIA

Digilari Media is a Brisbane-based digital marketing agency delivering website development, SEO, paid media, marketing automation and AI-powered growth strategies for clients across Australia and internationally.

We are expanding our remote team and looking for a highly capable Senior WordPress Website Developer based in the Philippines.

This is not a role for someone who simply installs themes and plugins. We need an experienced problem-solver who can take ownership of multiple website tasks, diagnose issues quickly, communicate honestly and deliver reliable work without needing constant supervision.

If you take pride in building fast, secure and well-designed websites and you remain calm when something breaks, we want to hear from you.

THE ROLE

As our Senior WordPress Website Developer, you will work closely with our Australian and Philippine team across a portfolio of client websites.

You will be responsible for everything from building and implementing new pages to troubleshooting technical problems, improving page speed, managing plugins and maintaining existing websites.

The workload will be varied. You may be building a landing page in the morning, repairing a plugin conflict after lunch and improving Core Web Vitals later that day. You must be comfortable prioritising multiple tasks and completing them efficiently.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build complete WordPress websites (occasionally), landing pages and website sections from supplied designs or briefs
  • Turn Figma, Adobe or other design files into accurate, responsive web pages
  • Create clean, professional page layouts when a finished design is not supplied
  • Diagnose and resolve WordPress errors, broken functionality and unexpected website behaviour
  • Identify the root cause of problems instead of continually adding plugins or temporary fixes
  • Manage, configure, update and troubleshoot themes and plugins
  • Investigate and resolve plugin, theme, PHP and JavaScript conflicts
  • Improve website loading speed, Core Web Vitals and mobile performance
  • Optimise images, scripts, stylesheets, databases, caching and hosting configurations
  • Maintain WooCommerce websites where required
  • Implement forms, tracking codes, CRM integrations, payment gateways and third-party APIs
  • Complete website migrations, domain changes, DNS updates and hosting transfers
  • Maintain website security, backups, staging environments and update processes
  • Implement technical SEO/GEO requirements, redirects, schema markup and crawlability improvements
  • Test all work across desktop, tablet, mobile and major browsers before release
  • Manage multiple tasks through Asana and communicate clearly through Slack
  • Record time accurately in Clockify
  • Provide realistic estimates and alert the team early if a deadline or technical issue may affect delivery
  • Document recurring processes and technical solutions so they can be used again

CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS

Strong professional experience is required in:

  • WordPress development and administration
  • HTML5, CSS3 and responsive website development
  • JavaScript and jQuery
  • PHP and MySQL
  • WordPress themes, child themes and customisation
  • Widely used WordPress page builders
  • Advanced Custom Fields
  • WooCommerce
  • Plugin assessment, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Website speed and Core Web Vitals optimisation
  • Cloudflare, caching systems and content delivery networks
  • Hosting environments, cPanel, FTP/SFTP and DNS management
  • Website backups, migrations, staging and deployment
  • Website security and malware prevention
  • Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking
  • Technical SEO/GEO fundamentals
  • Git or another version-control workflow

HIGHLY REGARDED EXPERIENCE

Experience with any of the following will be an advantage:

  • Custom WordPress theme or plugin development
  • Figma-to-WordPress implementation
  • Elementor, Bricks, Beaver Builder, Divi or WPBakery
  • HubSpot and GoHighLevel integrations
  • Zapier, Make, n8n or API-based integrations
  • Cloudways, WP Engine, Kinsta, SiteGround or similar hosting platforms
  • Website accessibility standards
  • Shopify, Webflow or other CMS platforms
  • AI-assisted development and troubleshooting tools
  • Conversion-focused landing-page development

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have senior-level WordPress development experience and can demonstrate it
  • You are an excellent problem-solver who investigates before making changes
  • You work quickly without sacrificing quality or testing
  • You can manage numerous small and large tasks without losing control of priorities
  • You take ownership of a problem and follow it through until it is properly resolved
  • You communicate clearly in written and spoken English
  • You are dependable, organised and comfortable working independently
  • You understand that “finished” means tested, responsive and functioning correctly, not merely uploaded
  • You are transparent about time, progress, limitations and mistakes
  • You never hide an error, exaggerate your experience or claim that work is complete when it has not been properly checked
  • You treat client websites, information, logins and business data with complete confidentiality
  • You are willing to ask questions when a brief is unclear rather than making costly assumptions
  • You remain calm and methodical when dealing with urgent website problems
  • You are interested in a stable, long-term position and becoming an important part of our team

CONDITIONS

  • Full-time position: 30-40 hours per week, depending on your availability
  • Remote, home-based role for candidates located in the Philippines
  • Regular overlap with Australian Eastern Standard Time is required
  • Long-term position; we are building a team, not filling a short-term contract
  • Competitive salary based on demonstrated skills and experience
  • Work across a varied portfolio of Australian, New Zealand & US business websites
  • Direct communication with our Australian & Philippine strategy, design and marketing teams

HOW TO APPLY

Please use the following subject line:
