Legal Assistant – U.S. Immigration Law Firm | Full-Time | Philippines
We are a U.S.-based law firm seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Legal Assistant located in the Philippines to join our immigration practice.
This is a long-term position for someone who is comfortable working independently, following detailed procedures, communicating with clients, and handling deadline-sensitive legal matters.
Work Schedule
Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. U.S. Central Time
Saturday: 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. U.S. Central Time
Applicants must be able to consistently work during these hours. Please consider the corresponding overnight hours in the Philippines before applying.
During scheduled working hours, you must be available and actively working except during authorized meal and rest breaks.
Responsibilities
Assist with U.S. immigration matters, including family-based immigration, adjustment of status, naturalization, removal of conditions, employment-based immigration, and consular processing
Assist with preparation of USCIS forms and immigration applications under attorney supervision
Collect, review, organize, and maintain client documents and supporting evidence
Review client files to identify missing documents and information
Enter and verify client information in legal and immigration case-management systems
Review forms and supporting documents for inconsistent names, dates, addresses, immigration history, and other discrepancies
Communicate with clients regarding questionnaires, documents, deadlines, appointments, and case status
Make and receive client telephone calls as needed
Prepare routine correspondence, client instructions, document checklists, and follow-up communications
Maintain accurate and organized electronic client files
Calendar and track deadlines and follow-up dates
Perform legal and factual research when requested
Follow established law-firm procedures and attorney instructions
Handle confidential and privileged client information appropriately
Required Qualifications
Excellent written and spoken English
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and computer skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters
Ability to follow detailed written procedures and instructions
Comfortable performing detailed and repetitive form preparation, document review, and data-entry work
Professional telephone and client-communication skills
Reliable high-speed internet connection
Quiet and private home workspace suitable for confidential client communications

Ability to consistently work the required U.S. Central Time schedule
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working for a U.S. law firm
Prior U.S. immigration law experience
Experience preparing USCIS forms
Experience with Clio, Docketwise, or similar legal or immigration case-management software
Paralegal, legal assistant, law, or related educational background
Experience communicating directly with U.S. law-firm clients

This is an operational legal-assistant position. A substantial portion of the work involves immigration forms, document collection and review, data entry, client follow-up, telephone calls, deadlines, and case-management responsibilities.
Candidates primarily interested in academic legal research or attorney-level legal work should understand that the primary responsibilities of this position are legal-assistant and paralegal support functions.
Work Environment and Video Availability
This is a remote position. Team members must be available by live video during scheduled working hours, except during authorized breaks.
You must:
Have a functioning webcam;
Maintain a quiet and professional workspace;
Be able to participate promptly in video meetings and work check-ins; and
Maintain a workspace appropriate for handling confidential law-firm and client information.

Exclusive Availability During Working Hours
During scheduled working hours, you must devote your working time exclusively to our law firm.

Outside of scheduled working hours, this requirement does not restrict other employment or freelance work unless it creates a conflict of interest or involves confidential information.
