Job Overview
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the first point of contact for customers, keeping enquiries organised, and helping the sales and project teams respond quickly and professionally.
The core mission of the Business Support Assistant is to manage front-line call answering, coordinate incoming enquiries by phone, email and online chat, and convert quote requests into tasks for the estimating team. The role also supports other sales team activities as needed, helping the team work effectively and provide customers with the best possible service. Success in this position requires a strong team approach and a commitment to Selo’s culture and core values.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Handle telephone and email enquiries, ensuring each enquiry is accurately recorded in the CRM system.
  • Act as a professional point of contact for customers, responding to enquiries, concerns and requests promptly and helpfully.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely project updates and seamless communication with clients.
  • Qualify and process incoming enquiries, providing product-related support and directing technical questions to the appropriate internal team where needed.
  • Setting up quoting tasks by downloading and noting all relevant information, including client schedules from pdf, to excel.
  • Provide quotes
  • Answer calls promptly and professionally, ensuring each customer is supported in line with the Selo way.
  • Respond to enquiries directly where possible, or coordinate with the relevant team members to ensure responses are provided within the required timescales.
  • Use internal technical product training and our internal chat bot, LOLA, to answer customer questions by phone, email or online chat, escalating more complex queries to the appropriate team member when needed.

Essential Requirements

You must be available to work UK hours, Monday to Friday, from 7:30am to 4:00pm, with a 3:30pm finish on Fridays.

You must also have an excellent command of written and spoken English.

You will need a reliable, high-speed broadband connection.
