About the Role

*********** This is an inhouse position only************

Kitchen & Bath Authority has been serving the home improvement industry for over 23 years. As we continue to grow our digital presence, we are looking for a results-driven SEO Specialist / SEO Manager with hands-on experience in modern search, backlink acquisition, content strategy, and AI-driven optimization.

This is a full-time position with some scheduling flexibility. Core availability and reliable communication are expected during agreed-upon working hours, but we are open to accommodating your time zone on certain days of the week.

This role is ideal for someone who can both execute SEO initiatives independently and take ownership of projects, priorities, and potentially other team members or external partners as our digital team continues to grow.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and improve on-page SEO across product, category, and content pages, including title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, internal linking, schema markup, and content optimization
  • Develop and execute backlink acquisition strategies through outreach, editorial placements, guest posting, partnerships, and digital PR
  • Optimize content and site structure for emerging AI-powered search experiences, including AI Overviews (AIO), generative search surfaces, and image/search optimization opportunities
  • Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis across our kitchen, bath, lighting, and home improvement product categories
  • Plan, assign, review, and optimize SEO-focused blog and landing-page content; AI writing tools are welcome, but strong human editing, fact-checking, and optimization are required
  • Identify technical SEO issues and work with developers or internal team members to prioritize and implement improvements
  • Monitor rankings, organic traffic, conversions, backlink growth, and other key SEO KPIs using GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and related tools
  • Prepare clear monthly performance reports and translate SEO data into actionable recommendations
  • Take ownership of SEO priorities, timelines, and deliverables while helping coordinate writers, developers, freelancers, agencies, or other digital team members when necessary
  • Help establish SEO processes, documentation, quality standards, and best practices as the department grows

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in e-commerce
  • Demonstrated ability to manage SEO projects from strategy through execution and reporting
  • Some managerial, team-lead, project-management, or vendor-management experience preferred
  • Must submit at least 2 case studies or documented examples of past SEO success showing where you started, what actions you took, and the measurable results
  • Proven backlink acquisition experience with a clear and repeatable outreach process
  • Working knowledge of AI-powered search optimization, structured data, and emerging search experiences
  • Proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs and/or SEMrush, and technical SEO auditing tools
  • Strong understanding of on-page SEO, internal linking, keyword strategy, content optimization, and technical SEO fundamentals
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and clearly communicate results and recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in home improvement, kitchen and bath, lighting, furniture, or home décor e-commerce
  • Experience managing writers, SEO contractors, outreach specialists, or other digital marketing team members
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge
  • Experience with large e-commerce catalogs and product/category-page optimization

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time position
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Paid U.S. holidays
  • Scheduling flexibility with agreed-upon core availability
  • Potential flexibility to accommodate your local time zone on certain days of the week
  • Opportunity to take on greater ownership and managerial responsibility as the digital team grows

To Apply

Please send:

  • Your resume
  • At least 2 SEO case studies or documented examples of measurable SEO results
  • A brief introduction video telling us about yourself, your SEO experience, and why you believe you would be a strong fit for this role

Only candidates who submit an introduction video will be considered.

Bonus points if you also include a Loom walkthrough of a site audit, SEO project, backlink campaign, or ranking win. Candidates who provide a strong walkthrough will receive priority consideration.

We are looking for someone who can do more than follow an SEO checklist. We want someone who can identify opportunities, take ownership, execute effectively, measure results, and help lead our SEO efforts as we continue to grow.
