About the Role

Job Summary:

The US Accountant will provide support to the finance and accounting team in managing and maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with US accounting standards, and assisting with various financial processes. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain experience and build a career in accounting.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Process invoices and verify accuracy.
Reconcile bank statements.
Prepare and issue payments to vendors.
Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable statements.
Assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger.
Post journal entries and ensure proper coding.
Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Compile and analyse financial data for accuracy.
Generate financial reports as required by management.
Assist in preparing and filing Payroll tax tax returns, including sales tax and income tax.
Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
Review and process employee expense reports.
Ensure adherence to company expense policies.
Provide support during internal and external audits.
Prepare audit schedules and documentation as requested.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Ensure data entry is timely and error-free.
Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the finance team.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Basic understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance.
Previous internship or entry-level accounting experience is a plus.
