Per Project Wordpress Builder
Confidential employer
We are hiring a per-project WordPress + Elementor website builder to work with our website production team.
This position is ideal for someone who wants consistent project work, clear systems, and the ability to earn more as they prove they can handle projects independently.
We are not looking for someone who simply knows how to drag Elementor widgets onto a page.
We want someone who thinks.
You should be able to follow instructions, pay attention to details, troubleshoot problems, communicate well, and use tools like ChatGPT and Claude intelligently.
What We Provide
Our production process is highly systemized.
For standard website builds, the website content will already be provided and mapped into the build.
You are not being paid these project rates to research and write an entire website from scratch.
Your primary responsibility is taking the assets, content, instructions, and systems we provide and turning them into a polished finished website.
What You'll Do
Projects may include:
- WordPress website builds
- Elementor Pro
- Responsive desktop/tablet/mobile implementation
- Following approved designs or templates
- Implementing mapped website content
- Forms
- Images and image optimization
- Internal linking
- Basic on-page SEO implementation
- Rank Math
- ACF/dynamic content when required
- CSS adjustments
- Website QC
- Revisions
- Troubleshooting issues
- Following our build SOPs and documentation requirements
We will train you on our specific production system.
Compensation
This is a per-project position, not a monthly salary.
#### Probation Period
During your initial probation/training period:
$90 per completed standard website
There is no bonus structure during probation.
The purpose of this period is to learn our process, understand our expectations, and demonstrate that you can consistently complete projects correctly.
Once you have proven yourself, you can advance into our normal production tiers.
#### Tier 1 — Production Builder
Standard 10-page website:
$70 base
Plus:
- $10 First-Pass QC Bonus
- $5 On-Time Completion Bonus
- $5 Clean Handoff / Documentation Bonus
Up to $90 per standard 10-page website
#### Additional Pages
Pages beyond the standard project are compensated based on complexity:
Basic / cloned page: $3 per page
Enhanced page: $4 per page
Advanced custom pages, functionality, or unusual project requirements are priced separately before work begins.
#### Tier 2 — Certified Builder
$100 per standard 10-page website
Tier 2 is earned through performance.
Typically, we want to see at least 5 successful builds demonstrating:
- Strong first-pass QC
- Reliable on-time delivery
- Good communication
- No recurring quality issues
- Understanding of our SOPs
- Ability to troubleshoot independently
#### Tier 3 — Advanced Builder
Typically:
$125–$175+ per project
These builders can handle more complex projects, troubleshoot independently, require less management, and consistently produce high-quality work.
Your earning potential increases as your value and capabilities increase.
Who We're Looking For
Experience matters, but how you work matters more.
We would rather hire someone with 4 years of experience who is adaptable, hungry, and pays attention than someone with 10 years of experience who is stuck in their ways.
You should:
- Have solid Elementor Pro experience
- Understand WordPress
- Be comfortable using ChatGPT and/or Claude
- Follow instructions carefully
- Ask questions when something is genuinely unclear
- Be capable of working independently
- Communicate well with a team
- Notice mistakes before QC notices them
- Be willing to learn our processes
- Accept constructive feedback
- Take deadlines seriously
- Think critically
- Troubleshoot problems
- Look for solutions instead of immediately saying something cannot be done
We don't expect you to know our internal AI systems before joining.
If you already understand how to effectively use ChatGPT or Claude, we can teach you our specific workflows.
The Mentality We're Looking For
When you encounter a problem, we don't want your first response to be:
"What do I do?"
We want you to first think:
"What is supposed to happen here? What information do I have? What can I test? Can I solve this safely myself? If I can't, what information does the team need from me to help solve it?"
There is nothing wrong with asking questions.
In fact, asking good questions is extremely important.
But there is a major difference between asking a thoughtful question after investigating a problem and requiring someone to think through every problem for you.
How to Apply
Please complete everything below.
Start your application with
"I READ THE ENTIRE POST."
Then answer:
1. Portfolio
Send 3 Elementor websites you personally worked on.
Tell us specifically what YOU did on each website.
2. Experience
How long have you been working with WordPress and Elementor?
What parts of a website build can you confidently complete independently?
3. AI
How do you currently use ChatGPT or Claude while building websites?
Give us a real example.
4. Problem-Solving Scenario
Imagine you are assigned a website.
The content has already been written and mapped.
You are halfway through the build and notice three things:
1. One section does not fit the content very well.
2. The mobile version looks significantly worse than the desktop version.
3. A form is not submitting properly.
The project manager will not be available for the next two hours.
Explain exactly what you would do.
Walk us through your thought process in order.
Tell us:
- What you investigate
- What you try yourself
- What you would change without approval
- What you would NOT change without approval
- What work you would continue completing
- When you would escalate something
- What you would send the project manager when asking for help
There isn't one perfect answer.
We want to see how you think.
Growth
We want builders who become more valuable over time.
Someone who starts by following our SOPs but eventually becomes capable of independently troubleshooting difficult builds is worth considerably more to us.
If you're competent, reliable, efficient, willing to learn, and interested in getting better instead of simply getting projects done, this could become a very strong long-term opportunity.
