MediaJel is a dynamic software technology startup company specializing in the digital marketing space with a dedicated team of professionals on an exciting growth trajectory.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on senior role, not an advisory one. You will own technical SEO for our website and for a portfolio of product sites, and you will be the person the team escalates to when something is not indexing, not ranking, or not tracking.

We are hiring on a 3-month contract with the intent to convert to full-time. The first 90 days are scoped around clear deliverables.

The sites you will work in are mostly ---------- includes a growing library of blog and educational content, a marketing academy, webinar and resource pages, and templated page sets covering advertising regulations in all 50 states. You will be the sole technical SEO owner, working alongside our marketing, content, demand generation, and web teams.

We are looking for a highly experienced and qualified Technical Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist in a senior role:

What You Will Own

Technical health of ---------- : crawlability, indexation, canonical logic, redirects, sitemaps, robots directives, pagination, and URL parameter handling
Structured data end to end. Writing, deploying, validating, and monitoring JSON-LD across the site, including Organization, Article, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Course, Event, and Service types
Internal linking architecture. Building and maintaining pillar and cluster models, hub-and-spoke link maps, anchor text strategy, link equity distribution, and orphan page remediation as new content publishes
Site architecture and URL taxonomy, including large templated page sets such as our state-by-state regulatory library
Keyword cannibalization analysis and remediation. Identifying competing pages and making consolidate, rewrite, redirect, or retain decisions, then executing them
Core Web Vitals and page experience. Diagnosing root causes such as render-blocking assets, background video, image weight, and third-party scripts, then specifying fixes the web team can implement
Indexation of JavaScript-rendered and embedded content
Pre-launch and post-launch QA for redesigns, template changes, and URL migrations, including redirect mapping and monitoring
Measurement infrastructure. GA4, Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager configuration, event and conversion tracking, and reporting that leadership can read at a glance
Monthly and quarterly technical audits with prioritized, effort-scored recommendations, followed through to completion
White-hat link acquisition, including digital PR, resource and citation placements, and unlinked mention reclamation
Optimization for AI search surfaces, including AI Overviews and LLM citation, with attention to entity clarity and content structured for extraction
Technical QA of published content: schema present and valid, internal links in place, templates rendering correctly, and no thin or duplicate output

Required Experience

5 or more years in SEO, with at least 3 years concentrated in technical SEO
Demonstrated ownership of a site of 500 or more pages
Advanced Screaming Frog skills, including custom extraction, JavaScript rendering mode, API integration, and crawl comparison analysis
Strong command of Semrush, specifically Site Audit, Position Tracking, Backlink Audit, and cannibalization reporting
Hands-on experience with GA4, Google Search Console including bulk export or API access, and Google Tag Manager
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, and enough JavaScript to diagnose rendering issues

Skills
Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical issues to executives in plain language and to developers with implementation-level precision
Comfortable operating independently and setting priorities without daily direction
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage concurrent workstreams and deliver on deadline
Collaborative and proactive partner to content, demand generation, and web teams
Current on the search landscape, including how AI-driven search is changing organic visibility

Details

Remote, with overlap in Pacific Time Zone business hours
3-month contract with the opportunity to convert to full-time
