Job description:
I'm a naturopathic doctor in California and I run Cleanbody, a program that helps people with severe eczema find and fix the root causes of their skin problems.
Most of the people who come to us have been struggling for years. They've tried steroids, elimination diets, and a dozen creams. By the time they find us they're exhausted and they've stopped believing anything will work.
Our program works — but only if people stick with it all the diet and lifestyle changes that are a part of our program.
Every week, our members write in a journal — how they slept, what they ate, whether they took their supplements, how their skin feels. You read those entries and you write back. You tell them what they're doing well. You ask what's getting in the way. You remind them that week six is hard for almost everyone and they're not behind.
You are not giving medical advice. You never comment on symptoms, interpret results, or suggest changes to anyone's protocol. I do that. Your job is encouragement, accountability, and noticing — and I'll train you thoroughly on where that line sits and exactly what to say.
This is a one-day-a-week job, every Monday. Members submit their journals by Sunday night; you read them all on Monday and write back to each one. Then you send me a short report on who's doing well, who's gone quiet, and what questions came up — which I use to plan our members' live call that week.
No calls, no video, no evenings, no being on call. If you're a good, warm writer who genuinely cares whether someone gets better, you'll be good at this.
What you'll do:
Every Monday:
- Read every member's journal and weekly update form (about 10 minutes each)
- Write a short, warm, specific reply to each one
- Note anyone who's gone quiet and reach out to them
- Send me a report: anything I need to know, who's stalling, the three questions that came up most, and one win worth sharing on the call
Throughout:
- Learn the Cleanbody Method thoroughly, so your encouragement is specific rather than generic
- Never answer a clinical question. Urgent things reach me automatically through our system — your job is to notice patterns, not emergencies.
What you need:
Required
- Excellent written English — warm, natural, not stiff or formal
- Genuine interest in health, nutrition, or wellness
- Careful and consistent: every member gets a reply every Monday, without fail
- Comfortable following a script and knowing when to escalate rather than improvise
- Reliable internet and a quiet place to work on Mondays
- Able to commit long-term. This role grows as we grow.
Nice to have:
- Background in nursing, nutrition, psychology, or health coaching
- Personal or family experience with eczema, allergies, or chronic skin conditions
- Experience with any patient portal or CRM
Not required:
- Any medical qualification
- Any experience with US healthcare
- Phone or video work — there is none
- Availability outside Mondays
What it's like to work here:
We're small. Right now it's me, a virtual assistant, and soon you. I'm honest about what I need, I don't micromanage, and I'd much rather you ask a question than guess.
I'm expecting a baby in March 2027 and will be on leave from March to June. During that time you'll be the main human presence our members have — which is exactly why I want to hire and train someone properly now, rather than scrambling later.
If you do this well, this role grows. More hours, more members, and more responsibility.
How to apply:
Please don't send a generic application — I read every one and I can tell.
Send me:
1. A short note about why this role interests you. Not your CV — just tell me why encouraging people through something difficult appeals to you.
2. This writing sample. Here is a member's journal entry from their sixth week:
"Honestly this week was rough. My skin flared up worse than it's been in a month and I don't know why. I've been doing everything — I haven't had dairy in five weeks, I'm taking all the supplements, I'm sleeping better than I was. And it still got worse. I'm starting to wonder if this is worth it. I skipped my journal a few days because I didn't want to write it down."
Write your reply. Around 100–150 words. Remember: you're not a doctor and you can't tell them why their skin flared or what to change. You can notice what they've done, acknowledge how it feels, and help them keep going.
3. The word "CLEAN" in the subject of your message, so I know you read this properly.
I read everything myself. Applications without the writing sample won't be considered.
