Shopify Developer – WooCommerce to Shopify Migration

We are a growing medical company looking for an experienced Shopify web designer/developer to migrate our existing WooCommerce/WordPress website to Shopify.

This is not a website being built from scratch. We already have an established website, products, content, branding and structure. The role is to transfer the existing website to Shopify while improving the overall customer experience and creating a clean, professional and conversion-focused online store.

What you'll be responsible for

• Migrate our existing WooCommerce website to Shopify
• Transfer products, product descriptions, images, pricing, categories and relevant content
• Recreate/improve the website structure and navigation
• Set up and customise an appropriate Shopify theme
• Ensure the website looks professional and works beautifully on both desktop and mobile
• Set up product collections, filters, menus and search
• Configure Shopify payments, shipping and relevant apps/integrations
• Ensure product pages are structured for good conversion
• Set up redirects from the existing WooCommerce URLs where required
• Preserve and improve existing SEO structure as much as possible
• Set up Google Analytics and Google Search Console correctly
• Ensure Meta/Google tracking and conversion tracking can be implemented correctly
• Optimise website speed and performance
• Check the entire customer journey from landing page through to checkout
• Test all forms, links, products, checkout and mobile functionality before launch
• Identify opportunities to improve the website from a conversion and customer-experience perspective

Important

We don't simply want someone to copy the existing website page-for-page.

We want someone who understands e-commerce, user experience and conversion optimisation and can look at the existing website and make sensible improvements while retaining the existing brand and information.

The website will also be used for Google Ads and paid traffic, so the structure needs to be set up properly for marketing from the beginning.

You should have

• Strong Shopify development experience
• Experience migrating WooCommerce websites to Shopify
• Good understanding of Shopify themes and customisation
• Strong understanding of e-commerce UX and conversion
• Experience with Google Analytics / GA4
• Understanding of Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking
• Understanding of SEO and URL redirects
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent written English
• Experience working with medical, health, beauty or regulated products is highly desirable
