Wentwood Capital is a Miami-based private real estate lender. We are a team of rockstar A+ performers from top companies, driven by a culture of hard work and teamwork!

We are looking for an AI Automation Engineer to help us build and deploy AI agents, automations, and system integrations across our business. This role reports directly to the CEO.

Our teams already operate using documented SOPs, workflows, and resource centers, and we run the business across a stack of third-party platforms including our CRM, servicing platform, communications systems, Microsoft 365, Notion, Excel, Hootsuite, and other business systems.

You will work alongside our AI Workflow Analyst, who documents processes and builds playbooks. Your job is to connect those systems into a thin, Wentwood-controlled integration and automation layer and build the technology on top of it, so data moves where it needs to, we can see what is happening across the business, and AI agents can work across functions instead of inside one tool. You will use the systems that already work, preserve clear systems of record, and avoid creating unnecessary duplicate infrastructure or databases.

This is not a machine learning or data science role. We are looking for a builder.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and operate the technical foundation for company-wide automation and AI, including integrations, service identities, permissions, secrets, logging, monitoring, exception handling, deployment, and rollback procedures

-Build AI agents that can use tools, interact with company systems, and complete multi-step workflows
-Build cross-functional agents that can pull information from one system, take action in another, and hand off to a person when judgment or approval is required
-Turn documented SOPs and playbooks into working automations and agentic workflows

  • Connect our third-party platforms through APIs and webhooks as the default integration approach, using Power Automate, Zapier, Make, n8n, custom code, and controlled agent tools such as MCP where appropriate
  • Define and maintain cross-system record mappings, field ownership, sync direction, and reliable identity matching so systems do not create duplicate or conflicting records

-Build the infrastructure around automations and agents, including permissions, human approval gates, guardrails, retries, logging, alerts, evaluations, and human review
-Write Python or JavaScript when no-code tools are not enough
-Build agents for QC, document review, drafting, data extraction, research, reporting, and task execution
-Monitor automations and agents, identify failures, and improve reliability
-Test new AI models, agent frameworks, and automation tools and determine what is actually useful in production
-Document what you build so systems can be maintained and improved over time
-Ensure production code, repositories, service accounts, credentials, and documentation remain under Wentwood-controlled accounts rather than depending on an individual employee or contractor

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of experience building automations, integrations, internal tools, or software
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying AI agents and agentic workflows
  • Experience with tool calling, multi-step execution, structured outputs, context management, and human-in-the-loop workflows
  • Experience connecting multiple systems so agents and automations can operate across platforms
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication, and third-party integrations
  • Experience designing reliable production integrations with retries, idempotency, logging, monitoring, and exception handling
  • Understanding of service accounts, API permissions, secrets management, and least-privilege access
  • Working knowledge of Python and/or JavaScript
  • Experience with Zapier, Make, n8n, Power Automate, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with MCP, agent frameworks, RAG, databases, and AI evaluations
  • Ability to read API documentation and build integrations without significant hand-holding
  • Someone who keeps up with AI because they genuinely enjoy it

If your AI experience is primarily prompting ChatGPT or building basic automations, this is not the right role.

Goal: Take documented business processes and turn them into reliable AI agents, automations, and connected systems that can operate across business functions, reduce manual work, and help our team operate at a significantly higher level while maintaining clear systems of record, human approval boundaries, production controls, and Wentwood ownership of the underlying infrastructure.

  • Phase II: Technical Build
  • Final Interview with Leadership Team

Benefits:
