Help Build the Office Side of a Growing Pest Control Company!
Night Owl Pest Patrol is a growing pest control company in California, and we're hiring our first dedicated office team member. This isn't a role where you'll just be given a list of small VA tasks.
We're looking for someone who can take real ownership of the day-to-day office operations of the company — helping customers, managing the schedule, keeping our systems organized, handling billing and bookkeeping tasks, and making sure things don't fall through the cracks.
You'll work directly with the owner and have the opportunity to become a key part of the company as we grow.
If you're highly organized, great with customers, comfortable with numbers, and naturally take ownership of problems, we want to hear from you.
The Role
Your goal is to keep the office organized, customers taken care of, and the day-to-day operation running smoothly.
You'll become the main point person for many of the administrative and customer-facing responsibilities of the business.

- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks
- Categorize transactions
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Keep QuickBooks organized and up to date
- Help identify discrepancies or missing information
- Work with the owner and CPA/bookkeeper when needed
You don't need to be a CPA, but you do need to be comfortable working inside QuickBooks and handling basic bookkeeping and reconciliation responsibilities.

Why This Role Is Different
You won't be joining a huge company where you're just another employee. You'll be the first dedicated office hire and will work closely with the owner to help build the systems and processes that support the company as it grows.
Someone who performs extremely well in this role can become a major part of Night Owl Pest Patrol's future. We're looking for someone who wants that responsibility.
How to Apply
Please submit:
1. Your resume
2. A 3–5 minute Loom video answering the questions below:
- Give us a quick introduction to yourself
- Tell us about the most similar role you've worked to this one. What were you personally responsible for, and what did you manage without needing constant direction?
- Tell us specifically about your QuickBooks experience. What have you personally done inside QuickBooks, including bookkeeping, categorizing transactions, reconciling accounts, or fixing discrepancies?
- Imagine the owner is in the field and you have three things happen at once: an upset customer calls, a technician has a scheduling problem, and you notice the bank reconciliation is off. Walk us through exactly how you would handle it.
- Why do you believe you would be a great first office hire for a small, growing company where you'll be expected to take ownership and figure things out?
Applicants who don't submit a Loom video, or who submit a pre-recorded Loom that has been used for other jobs, will not be considered.
To show us that you read the entire job posting, begin your application with: "Night Owl is #1."
