Legal Operations, AI & Digital Marketing Assistant
T McKee Law PLLC** — Nashville, TN
About the Firm
T McKee Law PLLC is a solo employment, nonprofit and general business law firm.
Because the firm is small, the work is real. There is no layer of associates and paralegals between this role and the actual practice. The person in this seat will see how cases are built and will own the systems that let the firm operate at a scale that normally requires a larger staff.
The role
This is a hybrid operations role combining three areas:
1. AI and workflow automation — building and maintaining the tooling that handles repetitive practice work.
2. Search and AI visibility (SEO / GEO) — making sure prospective clients searching for an employment lawyer, and AI assistants answering their questions, find this firm.
3. General administrative and intake support — the day-to-day that keeps a calendar from slipping.
You do not need to be a lawyer, a developer, or a marketing agency veteran. You do need to be genuinely curious about tools, careful with detail, and comfortable being the person who figures something out and then documents it so it works the same way next time.
What You'll Do
1. AI and workflow automation
- Build and maintain practical automations for recurring firm tasks: document intake and organization, deadline tracking, exhibit and production naming conventions, client status updates, timekeeping and billing prep.
- Develop and refine reusable prompts and templates for drafting support, document summarization, deposition and transcript review, and record review — always with attorney review before anything goes out the door.
- Evaluate AI and legal-tech tools against the firm's confidentiality obligations, and maintain a written record of what tool is approved for what kind of data.
- Keep the Google Workspace environment organized and functional: shared drives, matter folder structure, labels and filters, calendars, forms, and any connected apps or scripts.
- Write and maintain plain-English documentation for every process you build. If you leave for two weeks, the firm should still run.
2. SEO and GEO (generative engine optimization)
- Own the firm's website ( ---------- ): page structure, technical health, load speed, mobile experience, and conversion path from visitor to consultation request.
- Run keyword and intent research for employment and civil rights practice areas in Middle Tennessee, and build a content calendar from it.
- Draft and publish practice-area pages, FAQs, and articles that answer the questions prospective clients actually ask. Every piece is reviewed by the attorney before publication.
- Manage local search presence: Google Business Profile, directory and bar association listings, citation consistency, and review generation within advertising-rule limits.
- Build and track the firm's visibility in AI-generated answers — how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and AI search summaries describe the firm and whether they surface it for relevant queries. Structure content and schema markup so it is easy for these systems to cite accurately.
- Report monthly on traffic, rankings, AI citations, inquiry volume, and consultation conversion, with a recommendation attached to each number.
3. Administrative and intake support
- Handle first-touch intake: respond to inquiries, gather preliminary information on a structured form, run conflicts checks, and schedule consultations.
- Maintain the calendar and deadline docket, and flag upcoming dates well before they are urgent.
- Organize files and correspondence.
- Support billing and expense tracking.
Requirements
- Two or more years in an administrative, operations, marketing, or coordinator role — legal experience welcome but not required.
- Demonstrated hands-on use of AI tools for real work, not just experimentation. Be prepared to describe something you actually built or automated.
- Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals: on-page optimization, technical basics, content strategy, local search.
- Strong writing. Clear, plain, correct. This role produces public-facing content and client-facing communication.
- Comfort with Google Workspace and general software fluency — you can learn a new tool from its documentation without hand-holding.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Absolute discretion. You will handle confidential client information, including sensitive employment and medical records, and you will be bound by the same confidentiality obligations that apply to the attorney.
Preferred
- Experience in a law firm
- Familiarity with legal practice management
- Experience with automation platforms (Zapier, Make, Apps Script) or light scripting.
- Content management experience with the firm's platform, and familiarity with structured data and schema markup.
