YouTube Video Editor – Long-Form & Evergreen Content
Confidential employer
We are looking for a skilled, proactive and reliable YouTube Video Editor to join our team and work on multiple long-form YouTube channels.
Our channels mainly focus on evergreen, news-based and documentary-style content, so we are not looking for someone who simply puts clips together.
We need an editor who can understand the topic, script and niche of each channel, find relevant footage and create engaging videos designed to maintain viewer attention and retention.
Responsibilities
Edit long-form YouTube videos.
Find relevant footage, B-roll, images and visual resources.
Understand the niche, topic and audience of each channel.
Create engaging edits with good pacing and storytelling.
Improve viewer retention through visual changes, transitions, footage selection and editing decisions.
Work with CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar software.
Use AI tools to improve and speed up the editing workflow.
Follow reference videos and established channel styles.
Manage deadlines and deliver videos consistently.
Work independently without needing constant supervision.
Suggest ideas when you see opportunities to improve the videos, workflow or channels.
We are especially looking for someone proactive.
We don't want an editor who only waits for instructions. If you notice something that could improve retention, storytelling, editing quality or workflow, we want you to tell us and propose solutions.
We are building and scaling several YouTube channels, so our goal is to find someone who wants to become part of the team long-term, understand our channels and gradually take more responsibility.
Requirements
Previous experience editing YouTube videos.
Experience with long-form content.
Good understanding of pacing and storytelling.
Ability to find relevant footage independently.
Comfortable using AI tools.
Experience with CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar editing software.
Good communication.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and improve.
Proactive attitude.
Interest in working with us long-term.
Trial Period & Payment Structure
The first 2 weeks will be a trial period.
During these first 2 weeks, payment will be made per completed video/project.
This allows both sides to make sure that the collaboration, editing style and workflow are a good fit before moving into a longer-term arrangement.
If both sides are happy after the trial period, we will move to a regular monthly agreement.
For the following 2 months, the salary will be $400/month, paid weekly in 4 equal payments of $100.
There will also be opportunities to earn additional performance-based bonuses based on results and contribution to the channels. The bonus structure will be discussed in more detail after we start working together.
As the channels and team grow, there will also be opportunities to take responsibility for more channels and grow within the team.
What We Will Evaluate
During the trial period and first months, we will mainly evaluate:
Editing quality.
Ability to understand the script and niche.
Footage selection.
