Government Contracts & Grants Specialist

Part-Time | 15 Hours/Week | Remote | $8.00 USD/Hour

Able and Capable Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced, highly organized Government Contracts & Grants Specialist to help identify, evaluate, develop, and pursue funding opportunities.

This is not a general VA or data-entry position. We are looking for someone who can research opportunities, think strategically, write persuasively, follow detailed requirements, and move qualified opportunities from discovery toward submission.

What You'll Do

You will manage two primary opportunity pipelines:

Government Contracting

  • Research federal, state, local, and other government contracting opportunities.
  • Monitor SAM.gov and other relevant procurement sources.
  • Evaluate solicitations and make clear Go/No-Go recommendations.
  • Support opportunities for both Able and Capable Solutions, Inc. and an affiliated for-profit business.
  • Research potential subcontractors when appropriate.
  • Develop proposal strategies, draft responses, organize required documentation, and prepare submissions for final review.
  • Track deadlines, amendments, questions, submissions, and outcomes.

Grant Development

  • Research federal, state, local, foundation, corporate, and private grant opportunities for Able and Capable Solutions, Inc.
  • Determine eligibility and organizational fit before recommending an application.
  • Develop grant strategies and calendars.
  • Draft compelling grant applications, narratives, LOIs, project descriptions, outcomes, budgets/budget narratives, and supporting materials.
  • Prepare qualified applications for final review and submission.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects, applications, deadlines, awards, and follow-up requirements.

Who We're Looking For

The strongest candidate will have demonstrated experience in government contracting/proposal development and/or nonprofit grant research and writing. Experience with U.S.-based organizations, SAM.gov, government solicitations, Grants.gov, foundation grants, RFP/RFQ responses, or similar work is highly desirable.

You should be an excellent researcher and writer who can work independently, identify problems before they become problems, manage deadlines, and explain your recommendations clearly.

Schedule & Compensation

  • 15 hours per week
  • Approximately 3 hours per weekday
  • $8.00 USD per hour
  • Long-term opportunity for the right person

How to Apply

Please send your application and résumé to ---------- and answer these three questions:

1. Describe your experience researching and developing U.S. government contract proposals and/or grant applications. Please be specific about your role.

2. Tell us about one government proposal or grant application you are particularly proud of. What did you personally contribute, what was the approximate funding/contract value, and what was the outcome?

3. Imagine you discover a $250,000 opportunity that appears to fit our organization, but the solicitation requires past performance we may not possess. What would you do before recommending that we pursue it?

Important: If providing examples or work samples, please remove/redact all confidential, proprietary, personally identifiable, or client-sensitive information.

Candidates who demonstrate strong relevant experience will be invited to complete a short second-stage assessment before interviews are scheduled.
