Virtual Assistant — Design Drafter

Position Overview
We're seeking a skilled Design Drafter to create residential floor plans in Home Designer 2027 and
develop post-frame building plans in SmartBuild Post Frame Building software. You'll work from
specifications and client requirements to produce detailed, accurate design documentation and material
takeoffs.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop residential floor plans in Home Designer 2027 based on project specifications
• Create post-frame building plans and specifications in SmartBuild Post Frame Building software
• Generate design renderings and technical drawings from completed plans
• Prepare material takeoffs and quantity lists from completed floor plans and post-frame designs
• Ensure accuracy of dimensions, materials, building specifications, and material quantities
• Organize and manage digital design files and project documentation
• Revise designs based on technical feedback and project requirements

Required Experience

• Proficiency in Home Designer 2027 — floor plan development and design work
• Hands-on experience with SmartBuild Post Frame Building software
• Experience with material takeoffs and bill of materials generation
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings and quantities
• Ability to work from written specifications and technical requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in residential design or construction drafting
• Experience with AutoCAD or other design software
• Knowledge of building codes and construction standards
