About the Role

This remote analyst role focuses on processing US customs import records You will review historical US import shipment data, identify real‑life importers, analyze their import product categories, and validate how well their past import history matches our target product portfolio: kitchen cabinets, quartz / stone countertops, interior flooring for multifamily construction projects.

You will clean raw customs datasets, filter irrelevant importers, mark matching‑level for each company, and deliver structured, verified lead spreadsheets. No outbound sales or customer messaging required**. This is purely data research, cross‑checking and qualification work.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work with provided US customs raw datasets (bill‑of‑lading records). Extract key fields: importer company name, location (US city & state), supplier origin, shipped product description, shipment volume, shipment date.
2. Analyze each importer’s historical import records: judge what types of building‑material goods they have previously imported.
3. Conduct secondary cross‑verification via Google / company website / LinkedIn: confirm the importer’s real‑world business type (builder / dealer / distributor / general contractor / retailer).
4. Grade each importer by product‑match level: High Match / Medium Match / Low Match / Not Qualified.

  • High Match: Has prior import history of cabinets, stone countertops, flooring; operates as project‑oriented commercial buyer for multifamily / commercial projects.
  • Medium Match: Imports related building materials but limited track‑record on our core SKUs; worth further review.
  • Low Match / Not Qualified: Pure retail, unrelated merchandise, small‑size remodel shops, non‑construction businesses — exclude these from final output.

5. Populate standardized Excel spreadsheet with all verified information: company name, location, customs‑record product details, website, business profile, match rating, brief remarks for why it is qualified or disqualified.
6. Remove duplicate company entries from customs data. Consolidate multiple shipment records belonging to the same importer.
7. Submit daily updated spreadsheet and short weekly summary: total records processed, number of high‑match qualified importers filtered out.

Qualified Importer Profile (Reference for your checking)

  • US‑based importers with past import records of cabinetry, stone countertops, flooring or related interior construction materials
  • Business type: building‑material dealer, wholesale distributor, multifamily builder, real‑estate developer, general contractor
  • Prior ocean‑import experience (familiar with overseas FOB sourcing)
  • Exclude: e‑commerce resellers with small parcel shipments, pure retail stores, non‑construction‑related importers.
