Academic Research Assistant (Psychology Graduate) – Research Methods & Quiz, Surveys, and Polls Creation

Type: Part-Time / Project-Based (10–15 hours/week to start)
Salary: $6.00 – $9.00 USD / hour (depending on degree level and experience)

Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented Virtual Assistant with a strong background in Psychology to assist with course preparation for Research Methods in Psychology courses. This role combines academic literature processing with straightforward EdTech administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities for this gig:

1. Content Extraction & Google Forms Setup (Academic Extraction):

• Read provided psychology research papers (focusing on Method, Measures, and Appendices sections).
• Extract survey items, manipulation check questions, scale anchors (e.g., Likert scales), and multiple-choice options.
• Organize questions into a Master Google Sheet, ensuring strict accuracy for answer keys, reverse-scored items, and technical terminology for automated Google Forms generation.

2. Poll Everywhere & PowerPoint Integration (Easy Mechanical Setup):

• Take the provided question sets, desired formats, and answer keys, and upload/import them directly into Poll Everywhere.
• Share the created Poll Everywhere activities with the lead instructor's account.
• Embed/upload the live Poll Everywhere activities directly into the provided PowerPoint lecture slides.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Psychology, Psychometrics, or Behavioral Sciences (required).
• Strong understanding of psychological research designs (e.g., hypothesis definitions, operational definitions, survey-based data collection).
• Excellent written English and academic literacy.
• Comfort with Google Sheets/Excel, Google Forms, and Microsoft PowerPoint (Poll Everywhere is free and easy to use)
• High attention to detail (zero tolerance for typos or altered scientific phrasing).
