About the Role
An Australian healthcare clinic is seeking an experienced, reliable and highly organised remote bookkeeper to manage its end-to-end bookkeeping responsibilities.

This position requires strong Xero skills, excellent attention to detail and a clear understanding of confidentiality when working with sensitive client, employee and business information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero
  • Accurately record and categorise income and expenses
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment transactions
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Generate, review and monitor invoices
  • Allocate payments and resolve unmatched or incorrectly allocated transactions
  • Monitor outstanding accounts and professionally follow up overdue invoices
  • Process supplier bills and prepare scheduled payments for approval
  • Maintain accurate records of receipts, invoices and supporting documents
  • Support Australian BAS and GST record-keeping requirements
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, cash-flow summaries and aged receivable reports
  • Identify discrepancies and resolve bookkeeping errors promptly
  • Liaise with the Director, administration team, accountants as required
  • Maintain organised, accurate and audit-ready financial records
  • Develop and follow clear bookkeeping procedures and checklists
  • Complete other finance-related administrative duties within the agreed scope of the role

Confidentiality and Data Security
The clinic handles sensitive health, financial, employment and personal information. The successful applicant must:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Understand the importance of protecting client and business information
  • Follow Australian privacy requirements, clinic policies and security procedures
  • Access systems and records only for authorised work purposes
  • Use secure devices, passwords, internet connections and approved communication platforms
  • Never download, copy, share or store confidential information without authorisation
  • Sign a confidentiality and data-security agreement before commencing
  • Promptly report any suspected privacy, security or financial i ----------

Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:

  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end bookkeeping
  • Strong practical experience using Xero
  • Experience with bank reconciliation, invoicing, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Clear written and spoken English
  • The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • A reliable computer, stable internet connection and secure private workspace
  • Strong professional integrity and respect for confidentiality
  • The ability to identify errors, investigate discrepancies and communicate concerns promptly
  • Willingness to follow established procedures while suggesting appropriate improvements

Highly Regarded

  • Bookkeeping experience with an Australian business
  • Knowledge of Australian GST and BAS processes
  • Experience working with a healthcare, allied health or NDIS provider
  • Familiarity with Halaxy or another healthcare practice-management system
  • Experience working with Australian accountants or BAS agents
  • Relevant bookkeeping, accounting or finance qualifications
  • Xero Advisor Certification

Contract Information
This is a fixed-term independent contractor position.

Continuation or renewal may be considered based on business requirements and satisfactory performance but is not guaranteed.

The contractor will be responsible for their own equipment, internet connection, taxes and other obligations applicable in the Philippines. The final scope, hours, payment arrangements, confidentiality requirements and performance expectations will be documented in a written contractor agreement.
