About EGL

Emerald Global Logistics coordinates shipping of vehicles, machinery and personal effects between Australia and Ireland/UK, including full containers and shared-container services.

We are looking for an experienced freight sales professional to bring in new customers, build referral partnerships and turn enquiries into profitable bookings. You will work directly with the owner and our existing coordination team.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and approach suitable customers, including vehicle dealers, machinery businesses, removal companies and importers/exporters.
  • Generate qualified enquiries through targeted calls, email , LinkedIn and relevant industry networks.
  • Build relationships with referral partners and repeat shipping customers.
  • Gather accurate shipment details, including cargo, route, dimensions, timing and service requirements.
  • Work with our team to prepare quotes for approval.
  • Follow up enquiries and quotations, address customer questions and secure bookings.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline with contact history, next actions and expected shipping dates.
  • Hand confirmed bookings to our coordination team with complete customer information.
  • Report weekly on qualified leads, quotes, bookings, expected margins and reasons for lost business.

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated experience selling freight forwarding or international shipping services.
  • Examples of customers or accounts you personally won.
  • Understanding of FCL, LCL and international sea freight.
  • Strong spoken and written English, with confidence making sales calls.
  • Ability to work independently and follow up consistently.
  • Experience using a CRM or structured sales tracker.
  • Reliable computer, internet connection and a suitable workspace.

Experience with Australian trade lanes, Ireland/UK shipping, vehicles, machinery or household relocations is an advantage.

How success will be measured

Success means qualified enquiries, profitable bookings and repeat customers. We value accurate quoting, clear communication and dependable follow-up. Activity and sales targets will be agreed during onboarding.

How to apply

Please send your CV and a brief response covering:

1. What freight services have you personally sold?
2. Describe one customer you won: how you found them, secured the booking and developed the relationship.
3. Which countries, trade lanes and customer types have you worked with?
4. How would you approach finding customers for EGL during your first 30 days?
5. What are your available hours, earliest start date and expected hourly rate, including currency?

Please distinguish between selling freight services and selling products while arranging their shipping.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview and may be asked to complete a paid practical assessment.
