Long-Form Video Editor Wanted (YouTube + Reels)
Confidential employer
Hi! I'm Veronica, a Vancouver-based content creator building a multi-brand presence across Pokemon collecting, fitness/wellness, and fashion/makeup/lifestyle. I'm looking for a reliable long-term video editor to take my long-form YouTube content off my plate so I can focus on filming and growing the channels.
The role
Approximately 9 long-form YouTube videos per month (typically 10 to 15 minutes each)
Approximately 10 short-form reels per month, mostly cut from the same long-form footage you'll already be working with
Three content styles you'll need to handle:
Pokemon collecting: cute, girly, energetic. Bright, playful, light effects, fun pacing
Fitness/wellness: punchy, slightly comedic, tight cuts, good sound design
Fashion/makeup/lifestyle/vlog: clean, aesthetic, cinematic vlog feel
Style references and example videos go to shortlisted applicants so you can see exactly what I'm aiming for.
What I'll provide for each project
A short script, outline, or reference video before editing starts (so direction is clear from the beginning)
All raw footage organized and uploaded to a shared folder
A clear deliverable target and upload date
Feedback batched into one revision pass per project (no piecemeal nitpicking)
What I'm looking for from you
Strong fundamentals: cuts, pacing, audio mixing, captions, basic colour
Comfort in at least one of: CapCut, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve (whichever you're fastest in is fine)
Ability to match a brand style from reference videos, not impose your own
Reliable communication: brief weekly check-ins, clear delivery timelines per project, flagging delays before they happen rather than after
Willingness to prioritize urgent uploads when something is time-sensitive
Rate and structure
Budget: $700 to $810 USD/month starting, for the volume above
Negotiable upward for fast turnaround, consistent quality, and strong fit
Monthly rate reviewed and increased as the channels scale. Long-term editors will have first opportunity to take on a lead editor role as additional editing support is added.
Async-friendly. You don't need to be online during my Vancouver hours. Please respond within 24 hours on weekdays. For items I flag as URGENT in the message subject, please reply same-day.
Trial process
Paid trial first: one long-form edit and one reel cut from that footage. If the trial goes well, we move into ongoing monthly work.
To apply, please include:
A link to your portfolio or 2 to 3 examples of long-form editing work you've done (YouTube videos preferred)
Which of the three styles (Pokemon-cute, fitness-comedic, lifestyle-cinematic) you're strongest in, and a link to one example of yours in that style
Your honest estimate of how long it takes you to edit a 12-minute long-form video from raw footage
Start your application with the phrase "Cards and cuts" so I know you read this post properly
I won't reply to copy-paste applications or anyone who skips the steps above. Looking forward to seeing your work
