Part-Time WooCommerce Developer

We are looking for an experienced WooCommerce Developer / E-commerce Website Designer to join our growing online business on a part-time, long-term basis.
We operate several e-commerce websites selling physical products across different markets and are looking for someone who can take ownership of the development, redesign, optimisation and ongoing improvement of our websites.
This is not just a website maintenance role. We want someone who can look at an existing e-commerce store, identify where it can be improved, and implement those improvements.
What You Will Be Working On
Your responsibilities will include:
Redesigning and improving existing WooCommerce websites
Building new pages and sections within existing websites
Improving the overall design and professionalism of our stores
Improving mobile responsiveness
Improving website speed and performance
Improving product pages to increase conversion rates
Improving cart and checkout pages
Creating upsells, cross-sells and product bundles
Setting up quantity discounts and promotional offers
Improving website navigation and product categories
Implementing better search and filtering
Setting up shipping options and international shipping rules
Installing, configuring and troubleshooting WordPress/WooCommerce plugins
Fixing bugs and compatibility issues
Managing website backups, updates and general maintenance
Improving website security
Working with APIs and third-party integrations where required
Implementing tracking such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and conversion tracking
We would also like to introduce more advanced functionality over time, including:
Automated email marketing
Abandoned cart recovery
WhatsApp integrations
AI-powered website features
Workflow automation using platforms such as ---------- or n8n
Experience with these areas is beneficial but not essential.

You should have strong experience with:
WordPress
WooCommerce
HTML
CSS
Basic PHP
JavaScript
Responsive website design
WooCommerce plugins and extensions
Website performance optimisation
E-commerce UX and conversion optimisation
You should be comfortable working independently and finding solutions without needing detailed instructions for every task.
We particularly value someone who can say:
"I noticed this part of the website could be improved, and this is how I would improve it."
rather than simply waiting to be given tasks.
Design Skills
You do not need to be a graphic designer, but you should have a good understanding of modern e-commerce website design.
You should be able to create websites that are:
Clean
Modern
Professional
Mobile-friendly
Easy to navigate
Designed to convert visitors into customers
Experience building websites for established product brands is particularly useful.
Working Arrangement
This is a part-time, ongoing position rather than a short-term project.
Initially, the role will focus heavily on redesigning and improving our existing websites. After the main development work is completed, there will be ongoing work involving optimisation, new features, landing pages, integrations and maintenance.
We are looking for someone interested in becoming a long-term member of the business as our e-commerce operations continue to grow.
Working hours can be flexible, although good communication and regular progress updates are important.

Have strong WooCommerce experience

Be comfortable managing multiple websites

Understand e-commerce rather than just web development
Have good written English
Communicate clearly when there are problems or delays

Be interested in a long-term working relationship
