CPA Needed to Fix Financial Statements in Sage 50/Quickbooks

We are looking for an experienced Certified Public Accountant to review and correct our company’s financial statements in Sage 50/QuickBooks.

The main goal is to fix the Balance Sheet and Income Statement so they properly reflect the company’s financial position and activity.

Responsibilities include:

• Review the Chart of Accounts for incorrect account types and poor account setup
• Fix Balance Sheet issues including bank accounts, credit cards, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, retained earnings, and opening balances
• Review Income Statement accounts for incorrect classifications, duplicate expenses, and misposted transactions
• Identify transactions posted to the wrong GL accounts
• Correct or recommend adjusting journal entries
• Reconcile financial statement balances to supporting reports and account ledgers
• Help clean up prior-period accounting issues without duplicating income or expenses
• Provide a clear list of adjustments made and remaining issues

Requirements:

• Certified Public Accountant preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of professional finance/accounting experience, including financial statement review, account reconciliation, and adjusting journal entries
• Strong experience correcting financial statements, not just data entry
• Experience with Sage 50 strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting, retained earnings, A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, and credit card liabilities
• Ability to explain accounting corrections clearly
• Experience with U.S. small business accounting is a plus

Work schedule:
8:00 PM to 11:00 PM Philippine Time, part-time

This is a remote project. We need someone who can diagnose and fix accounting issues, not just enter transactions.
