Stand up comedy editor and content manager

I’m a professional stand-up comedian looking for someone to help me grow my audience on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

I have over 100 million views but want to take things to the next level.

This is NOT just a video editing job.

I’m looking for someone who wants to become obsessed with figuring out how to make my comedy go viral.

And there is one requirement that is more important than anything else:

You MUST genuinely love stand-up comedy.

I don’t mean you’ve seen a few Kevin Hart clips on TikTok.

I want someone who actually watches American stand-up comedy in their free time.

You should have favorite comedians.

You should watch comedy specials.

You should understand why a joke is funny, where the punchline is, and why the setup matters.

You should understand sarcasm, irony, wordplay, crowd work, cultural references, and comedic timing.

This also means your English comprehension needs to be EXCELLENT.

You don’t have to speak perfect English. But you need to understand it at a very high level.

If you don’t genuinely love stand-up comedy, please don’t apply.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY BE DOING

I have a large amount of stand-up footage, podcasts, and other long-form content.

Your job will be to find the best moments and turn them into short-form videos that people want to watch and share.

You’ll primarily be creating content for:

• Instagram Reels
• Instagram Trial Reels
• TikTok
• YouTube Shorts

We’ll be posting a LOT.

On Instagram alone, I want to test at least 5 Trial Reels per day.

The goal isn’t just to pump out 5 random videos.

We’re going to test constantly and figure out what works.

Which jokes get the most views?

Which opening lines stop people from scrolling?

Which topics perform best?

Which clips generate followers?

Which lengths perform best?

What makes someone watch until the punchline?

What makes someone share a clip with their friend?

I want you paying attention to all of this.

I DON’T WANT SOMEONE WHO JUST FOLLOWS INSTRUCTIONS

At the beginning, I’ll give you a lot of direction.

I’ll show you what I like.

I’ll show you my best-performing content.

I’ll explain my comedy and how I think about clips.

But eventually I want YOU finding the clips.

I want to be able to give you a 60-minute stand-up performance or a 90-minute podcast and have you identify the moments that have the best chance of performing online.

I want you to get to know my comedy so well that you can watch something and immediately think:

“That’s the clip.”

That’s much more valuable to me than someone who is simply good at using editing software.

YOUR REAL JOB IS GROWTH

I don’t care about posting content just so we can say we posted something.

I want views. I want followers. I want fans.

I want someone who gets genuinely excited when a video takes off.

If one video gets 20,000 views and another gets 2,000,000 views, I want you asking WHY.

Was it the joke?

The first three seconds?

The caption?

The length?

The topic?

The editing?

Could we take another clip and package it the same way?

Could we edit the same joke differently and test it again?

You should constantly be looking for patterns and trying to beat our previous results.

YOU’LL GET PAID MORE WHEN WE WIN

In addition to your normal pay, you’ll have the opportunity to earn significant monthly performance bonuses.

The more views and growth our content generates, the more money you can make.

There will be bonuses based on things like:

• Total monthly organic views
• Follower growth
• Individual videos that become breakout hits

I want your incentives aligned with mine.

If you help me build a massive comedy audience, I want this to become a VERY good job for you.

WHO I’M LOOKING FOR

You’ll probably be a great fit if:

• You genuinely love American stand-up comedy
• You regularly watch stand-up specials and comedy clips
• Your English comprehension is excellent
• You understand American humor and cultural references
• You’re good at identifying the funniest/most interesting moment in a longer video
• You have experience editing short-form vertical video
• You understand hooks, retention, pacing, captions, and short-form storytelling
• You understand Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
• You’re comfortable producing and posting a high volume of content
• You like looking at analytics
• You’re competitive
• You experiment instead of doing the same thing over and over
• You’re proactive
• You can work independently
• You want to get REALLY fucking good at social media growth

HOURS

We’ll start at approximately 4 hours per day / 20 hours per week.

The first month will essentially be a paid trial.

If you’re great at this, I would love to turn it into a full-time position.

I’m not looking for someone to edit videos for me for three months.

I’m looking for someone who could potentially work with me for YEARS and become an important part of growing my comedy career.
