Island Woodcrafts is a growing custom cabinetry company based in North Carolina, USA. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented remote assistant to support our cabinet design, engineering, production documentation, and day-to-day organization.
This is a hybrid technical and administrative position. The ideal candidate understands cabinet construction, can work accurately with drawings and specifications, and enjoys developing organized systems that help projects move smoothly from design into production.
Primary Responsibilities
Cabinet Design and Shop Drawings
Assist with cabinet layouts and shop drawings using Mozaik, 2020 Design, and eCabinets.
Convert approved designs and field information into clear, production-ready drawings.
Create cabinet elevations, dimensions, sections, construction details, and installation information.
Review drawings for missing measurements, conflicts, and inconsistencies.
Make revisions based on feedback from designers, engineers, production staff, and project managers.
Prepare cabinet, trim, accessory, hardware, and material lists.
Help maintain cabinet catalogs, construction standards, and drawing templates.
Organize files required for engineering, CNC production, assembly, finishing, delivery, and installation.
Project and Organizational Support
Set up and maintain organized digital project folders.
Confirm that required files and information have been received before projects enter engineering.
Track drawing revisions, approvals, outstanding questions, and project deadlines.
Update project schedules, task lists, spreadsheets, and internal dashboards.
Prepare meeting notes, follow-up lists, and status reports.
Assist with data entry, document formatting, file naming, and recordkeeping.
Help document company processes and develop standard operating procedures.
Follow up with team members regarding missing information and incomplete tasks.
Provide other general administrative and organizational assistance as needed.
Required Qualifications
Previous experience with cabinet design, millwork drafting, architectural drafting, or cabinet manufacturing.
Working knowledge of at least one of the following:
Mozaik
2020 Design
eCabinets
Understanding of cabinet construction, dimensions, reveals, fillers, finished ends, moldings, hardware, and installation requirements.
Ability to read architectural plans, field measurements, elevations, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing or conflicting information.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage several active projects without losing track of details.
Reliable computer, high-speed internet connection, and a dependable backup plan for internet or power interruptions.
Willingness to maintain the confidentiality of company and customer information.

Schedule
The position will require an agreed-upon amount of working-hour overlap with our team in the Eastern Time Zone. The exact schedule will be discussed during the interview.
