About the Role

JOB OVERVIEW

  • Location: Remote
  • Contract Type: Independent Contractor
  • Position: Part-Time
  • Hours: 20 hours per week
  • Pay: $250 per month
  • Brand: Financial Education / Personal Finance
  • Time Zone: Availability to overlap with UK working hours

ABOUT THE ROLE
I’m looking for a hands-on Content Strategist & Social Media Manager to help grow a personal financial education brand.
This is not simply a role where you will be given a list of posts to create each week. I need someone who can think strategically, understand an audience, research competitors, analyse content and performance, identify opportunities and take ownership of the process from research → strategy → content creation → scheduling → analytics → optimisation.

You should be comfortable working independently, bringing ideas to the table and explaining why you believe certain content will work.

THE MAIN GOAL
Growth is important, but going viral for the sake of going viral isn’t the goal.
The priority is attracting the right audience and turning that attention into genuine interest and qualified leads for the brand’s online masterclass and educational offers.
I want someone who understands the difference between vanity metrics and meaningful results.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Strategy & Research

  • Research the target audience, including their questions, problems, fears, objections and interests.
  • Research competitors and successful creators in the financial education/personal finance space.
  • Analyse existing content and identify what is working, what isn’t and why.
  • Develop and maintain content pillars, themes and a platform-specific strategy.
  • Identify content gaps, trends and opportunities.
  • Use analytics to continually improve the strategy.

Content Creation

  • Develop content ideas, angles and hooks.
  • Write short-form and long-form video scripts, captions, titles and descriptions.
  • Adapt content to the brand’s voice and different platforms.
  • Edit short-form and long-form video.
  • Create social media graphics and YouTube thumbnails.
  • Repurpose existing content into new formats.

AI can be used to support your workflow, but the final content must have genuine human judgement, creativity and personality.

Planning & Publishing

  • Build and manage the content calendar.
  • Schedule and publish content across relevant platforms.
  • Ensure content, captions, CTAs, links and formatting are correct.
  • Keep the content workflow organised and ahead of schedule.
  • Set up, manage and optimise ManyChat automations and workflows, including connecting relevant content CTAs to automated conversations and lead-generation sequences.

Analytics & Growth

  • Monitor views, watch time, retention, engagement, saves, shares, comments and other relevant metrics.
  • Identify patterns and use the data to recommend what to create more of, change or stop.
  • Look beyond follower growth and views to assess whether we’re attracting the right people.
  • Identify high-performing content and develop new angles and repurposing opportunities.
  • Support testing of hooks, titles, thumbnails and CTAs.

Community

  • Monitor and respond to comments and basic messages.
  • Identify audience questions and conversations that could become future content.
  • Escalate anything requiring my input.

WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR

  • Experience in content strategy and social media management, preferably for a personal brand, creator, coach, educator or similar business.
  • Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Strong copywriting and scripting ability.
  • Excellent understanding of audience and competitor research.
  • Ability to analyse content performance and turn data into action.
  • Strong video editing skills.
  • Strong graphic design skills, including creating social media graphics and YouTube thumbnails.
  • Understanding of SEO/keyword research for social media and YouTube.
  • Experience with ManyChat, or the ability to learn and set up automations independently.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

AI & ORIGINALITY

Please read this carefully before applying

AI tools can be used to support your workflow, but the final content must demonstrate your own creativity, judgement and understanding of the audience and brand.

I’m looking for someone who can take an idea, develop it, add their own perspective and create content that feels natural, engaging and authentic, rather than generic or formulaic.

If you rely heavily on AI to produce your content without adding meaningful human input, this role will not be the right fit for you.

APPLICATION & SELECTION PROCESS
Please note that shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a practical trial before a hiring decision is made.
The trial will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to think strategically, understand an audience, develop content ideas, write scripts and create content.

HOW TO APPLY
Please answer these 4 questions in your application:
1. Please share social media accounts that you’ve personally worked on or managed and briefly explain your role and what you were responsible for.

2. Please share links to examples of content you have personally created, particularly scripts, hooks, captions, videos or other social media content.

3. Imagine you are taking over the social media for a personal brand you’ve never worked with before. What would you want to understand first before creating or recommending content?

4. What tools do you currently use for content creation, scheduling, analytics, SEO/keyword research, video editing and ManyChat?

Please make sure your answers are your own and give us a genuine understanding of your experience and approach.
