About the Role

I run a photography and video production company in Delaware, USA. We shoot weddings, portraits, and corporate events across three brands, serving Delaware, the Philadelphia metro area, South Jersey, and Maryland. Our work is at ---------- .

The photography is strong. The marketing around it has not kept up. I'm hiring one person with a real eye for design to fix that. We are working towards a level up with our branding and appearances.

This is not a "post three times a week and report the numbers" role. I want someone who cares how things look, who notices when a layout is slightly off, and who understands that the way a studio presents itself is what lets it charge what it's worth. If that's you, keep reading.

How this role grows

You start on one brand only, our wedding studio, and go deep. Once that's running well we add our portrait brand, then our corporate brand. Your hours and pay grow with each one.

Months 1 to 3: wedding brand only, 4 hours per day
Months 4 to 6: add the portrait brand, 5 to 6 hours per day
Month 7 onward: all three brands, 6 hours per day

I'd rather you own one brand properly than spread thin across three from day one.

What you will own

Social media, with each brand having its own voice and look, scheduled through Pallyy
Weekly blog posts on our Showit site, written for couples searching for a photographer/videographer, not for other vendors at this time
Pinterest: boards, pinning, keyword-driven descriptions, Rich Pins
Designing marketing collateral in Canva: pricing guides, welcome packets, social templates, print pieces

Email marketing in Flodesk
Google Business Profile upkeep and posts
Pulling and organizing images from delivered galleries for marketing use
Submitting our weddings to publications and blogs
Occasional website updates in Showit
Tracking what's working: traffic, engagement, and inquiry volume by source

What success looks like

I close the sales. Your job is to make the studio look like the studio couples want, and to increase how many of them find us and reach out. You'll be measured on content shipping consistently, on the visual quality of what goes out, and on inquiry volume against a baseline. Not on bookings.

Required

A portfolio. Show me actual design work you've done: social graphics, layouts, print pieces, brand collateral. This matters more to me than your resume. I want to see your eye. Bonus points if it is in the portrait/wedding industry.
Strong written English. You'll be writing blog posts and captions in our voice.
Real Canva skill, beyond dropping images into a template
Experience running social media for a brand, not just your own accounts. A strong understanding of trends and what is effective
An interest in the wedding and portrait industry and how couples choose a photographer and videographer
Reliable internet plus a backup connection

Nice to have

Showit, WordPress, or other website editing experience
Pinterest marketing experience
SEO and blog writing for local search
Flodesk, Mailchimp, or similar email marketing
Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with a photography, wedding, or creative business

Our tools

Canva, Pallyy, Flodesk, Showit, Pinterest, ClickUp, Pic-Time, Google Workspace

What I offer

Steady long-term work with one client, paid twice monthly via Wise
13th month pay
Paid time off accruing from your first day, usable after 90 days
Clear growth in hours and pay tied to taking on more of the business
Creative input. I'm hiring you for your eye, so I want your opinion, not just execution. We are a very team oriented company with strong values and appreciation for our team.

How many clients do you currently work for, and what hours do you work for each?
