About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Clinical Support Specialist to support a growing dental manufacturing organization that creates orthodontic appliances for practices and patients.
This role is ideal for someone with strong orthodontic appliance experience, clinical knowledge, and the ability to support appliance design, quality improvement, customer education, and troubleshooting.
You will work closely with the Lab Clinical Director, orthodontists, clinical teams, lab technicians, and internal departments to help ensure appliances are designed, fabricated, and supported at a high standard.
This is not a general dental admin role. We need someone who understands orthodontic appliances, dental anatomy, orthodontic treatment principles, appliance construction, and how clinical decisions impact appliance design and quality.
What You’ll Do
Orthodontic Appliance Support
Support orthodontic appliance planning and design
Review appliance requirements and help ensure designs align with clinical needs
Assist with specialty design questions and appliance design guidance
Help troubleshoot issues related to appliance fit, function, fabrication, and quality
Work with orthodontists and internal teams to support patient-specific appliance needs
Clinical & Design Coaching
Provide appliance design guidance to orthodontic practices
Explain clinical and technical concepts clearly to orthodontists, practice teams, and lab team members
Support customer education related to appliance design, use, and troubleshooting
Help internal teams better understand orthodontic principles, appliances, and clinical expectations
Quality, Warranty & Remake Support
Assist with warranty claims and product warranty questions
Investigate errors, remakes, and quality concerns
Help identify root causes of appliance issues
Recommend ways to reduce remakes, rework, and recurring problems
Support quality improvement initiatives across the lab
Lab Workflow & Cross-Team Coordination
Learn workflows across lab departments
Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce errors
Communicate with lab technicians, clinical teams, customer service, and internal departments
Help ensure appliance information, product details, and documentation are accurate
Support inventory, pricing, and product information updates as needed
Customer Service & Practice Support
Communicate directly with orthodontic practices to answer questions and resolve issues
Provide professional, helpful, and clinically informed support
Build positive relationships with practices
Escalate complex clinical or operational concerns when needed
Maintain a high standard of customer service and follow-through
Required Experience
Active Dental Assistant license or credential
4+ years of hands-on orthodontic experience
Strong knowledge of orthodontic appliances
Strong understanding of dental anatomy, tooth movement, orthodontic mechanics, and treatment principles
Experience with appliance construction, materials, fit, function, and troubleshooting
Ability to explain clinical and technical information clearly
Strong written and spoken English communication
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working with orthodontists, lab technicians, and internal teams
Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Reliable internet connection and quiet work environment
Nice to Have
Orthodontic lab experience
Experience supporting appliance design or fabrication
Experience with digital dentistry, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, or digital workflows
Experience with customer support for orthodontic practices
Experience investigating remakes, appliance errors, or quality issues
Experience training or coaching clinical or lab teams
Familiarity with orthodontic manufacturing or dental laboratory workflows
