Video Editor Wanted - YouTube Channel
Confidential employer
Hey!
I'm looking for a skilled video editor to create long-form videos for a YouTube channel focused on discovering the best places to live, retire, invest, and explore across different U.S. states.
The channel covers topics like the best small towns, underrated hidden gems, retirement destinations, affordable places to live, real estate opportunities, fast-growing areas, and towns worth knowing about before everyone else does.
The videos should feel informative, visually engaging, and curiosity-driven — not like a basic slideshow or generic travel video.
The goal is to make viewers feel like they are discovering places and opportunities they haven't heard about yet.
Look at these chanel for example:

About this channel
This channel is focused on U.S. states, cities, small towns, and emerging destinations.
Typical video topics include:
- Best towns to live in a specific state
- Hidden gems most people don't know about
- Best retirement towns
- Affordable places to buy a home
- Underrated real estate markets
- Fast-growing towns and communities
- Places people are moving to
- Small towns with a great quality of life
- Places worth knowing before they become popular
- Best places for retirees, families, remote workers, or investors
Scripts and voice-over will be provided by me.
You will not need to record or direct any voice talent — the finished voice-over track will be delivered to you ready to edit around.
Your job is to turn the script and narration into a professional, engaging YouTube video using relevant real-world footage, images, maps, graphics, and other visual material.
Visual style
The visuals should match exactly what is being discussed.
For example, if the narration is talking about a specific town, I want to see footage or images of that actual town whenever possible — its downtown, neighborhoods, nature, homes, local attractions, streets, surrounding landscape, and lifestyle.
When the script discusses topics such as real estate, cost of living, population growth, location, weather, or nearby cities, you can use:
- Real footage of the location
- Stock footage
- Local photos
- Maps and Google Maps-style animations
- Aerial/drone footage
- Real estate and housing visuals
- Charts or simple graphics
- Text animations
- Screenshots or other relevant visual references when appropriate
Please avoid using random stock footage that has nothing to do with the town or location being discussed.
Accurate visual sourcing is very important for this channel.
The job
Video length: around 25 minutes
I provide:
- Complete script
- Finished voice-over
- Timestamps if needed
You provide:
- Full video editing
- Sourcing relevant footage and images
- Town/city/location footage
- Maps and location animations
- Real estate and housing visuals when relevant
- Text animations and motion graphics
- Smooth transitions
- Background music
- Sound effects
- Subtitles/captions where appropriate
- Final exported video ready for YouTube
The editing should keep the viewer engaged throughout the entire video.
Every town or location should feel visually different, and the visuals should help tell the story instead of simply filling the screen.
Good pacing and visual variety are very important.
Pay: $25 per completed video, paid per delivered video
Turnaround: 2 days per video, to be discussed once we start working together
Revisions: Unlimited revisions until the video is right
Volume: I plan to upload 3 videos per week and I'm looking for someone for a long-term working relationship.
Consistency is very important. If the first videos perform well and we work well together, there will be ongoing work every week.
Before we start, can you make a sample of around 5 minutes for me?
This will help me see your editing style, visual selection, pacing, maps, text animations, and how well you can turn the script into an engaging video.
