Long-Term Video Editor for GRiT - Long-form Videos + Social Cutdowns

GRiT is seeking a reliable video editor for an ongoing working relationship. The primary responsibility is to turn raw recordings into polished long-form videos and then repurpose the strongest moments into short-form social content.
This is not a shorts-only position. You must have experience shaping long-form spoken content, improving pacing, removing unnecessary material, and finding compelling moments that work as standalone shorts.
Monthly workload

The initial monthly package will include:

• Two long-form videos per month
• Approximately 10–20 finished minutes per long-form video
• Up to 90 minutes of organized raw footage per episode
• Four vertical shorts derived from each long-form video
• Eight shorts total per month
• Two consolidated revision rounds for each long-form video and its related shorts: Two reasonable revision rounds are included for each episode package. One episode package consists of the long-form master and its four associated shorts. Revision requests must be consolidated into one list per round. Revisions cover adjustments to the agreed edit—not complete re-edits, replacement footage submitted after editing begins, or a change in creative direction.

Review and organize supplied raw footage

• Remove mistakes, false starts, long pauses and unnecessary repetition
• Create a coherent story with professional pacing
• Clean and level dialogue audio
• Add appropriate music and sound effects
• Perform basic color correction
• Add relevant B-roll, titles and supporting graphics
• Follow GRiT’s brand guidelines
• Export the finished master in horizontal 16:9 format
• Short-form responsibilities

Initial long-form draft delivered within five business days of receiving complete materials.
Associated shorts delivered within two business days after approval of the long-form master.

After completing the long-form master, you will:

• Identify the strongest standalone moments
• Create compelling openings or hooks
• Reframe footage for vertical 9:16 delivery
• Add accurate, branded captions
• Add B-roll, punch-ins, graphics and sound effects where appropriate
• Keep each short focused on one complete idea
• Export for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts

Compensation: $400–$600 USD per month, depending on experience, portfolio quality and final scope.

Paid trial
Shortlisted candidates will receive the same source footage and instructions. The trial will require:
One polished 2–3 minute horizontal edit
One 30–60 second vertical short derived from that edit
Captions and basic GRiT branding
One revision round
Editable project files
Trial compensation: $50–$75 USD.
Do not create an unpaid sample when applying.

Requirements
Demonstrated experience editing both long-form and short-form content
Strong storytelling and pacing skills
Ability to identify compelling short-form moments within longer recordings
Strong written English and accurate captioning
Experience with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or equivalent professional software
Reliable computer and internet connection
Consistent communication and dependable delivery
Ability to follow reference videos and brand guidelines
Willingness to provide editable project files
Properly licensed music, stock footage, fonts and other third-party assets
