About the Role

I am looking for someone with a strong understanding of Physics, particularly Mechanics, to help me develop educational materials for high school Physics courses.

This position will initially focus on creating Physics worksheets, homework assignments, quizzes, reviews, and test questions. However, I am looking for someone I can work with long-term who may eventually help me develop larger portions of complete Physics curricula.

IMPORTANT: Strong Physics Knowledge Required

You must have a solid understanding of Physics.

During the interview process, I will ask you to solve Physics problems in real-time and explain your reasoning. If you are not confident solving high school and introductory college-level Mechanics problems, please do not apply.

A Physics degree or previous experience teaching Physics would be a major advantage, but it is not required if you can demonstrate strong Physics knowledge.

What You Will Be Doing

I am currently developing Physics courses and need help creating original Physics questions and solutions for high-level high school students.

These questions may be used for:
Homework assignments
Worksheets
Quizzes
Unit reviews
Tests
Future curriculum materials

I will provide examples and templates showing the style and difficulty level I am looking for.

For each assignment, I will provide:

  • The Physics topics being covered.
  • Examples of the types and difficulty of questions I want.
  • Formatting/templates when necessary.

You will provide:

  • Original Physics questions that do not create copyright issues.
  • Complete and accurate solutions/answer keys.
  • Materials formatted according to the provided template.
  • Careful review of every question to make sure the wording, numbers, diagrams, units, and answers are correct.

Using AI

Using AI tools such as ChatGPT is encouraged.

However, you cannot simply copy and paste AI-generated questions.

You are responsible for checking that:

The Physics is correct.

  • The problem actually makes sense.
  • All necessary information is provided.
  • The numerical answer is correct.
  • Units and significant details are correct.
  • The question is appropriate for the intended student level.

Strong ATTENTION TO DETAIL is extremely important for this position.

The Ideal Candidate

I am looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong understanding of Physics, especially Mechanics.
  • Has excellent attention to detail.
  • Can solve Physics problems accurately.
  • Can follow detailed instructions.
  • Is comfortable using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Has experience using AI tools effectively.
  • Communicates clearly and asks questions when something is unclear.
  • Is interested in learning how to create high-quality educational curriculum.

Previous experience as a Physics teacher, tutor, Physics major, engineer, or curriculum developer would be especially helpful.

Application Process

If you are interested:

  • Send me your resume.
  • Tell me about your background and experience with Physics.
  • Briefly explain your experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT.

Applicants who appear to be a good fit will receive a small sample/test assignment.

If you complete the assignment accurately and follow the instructions well, we will schedule an online interview. During the interview, I will ask you to solve several Physics problems in real-time so I can evaluate your Physics knowledge.

Hours & Long-Term Opportunity

I expect approximately 5–15 hours of work per week for the next 4 months.

If we work well together, I would like this to become a longer-term position. Future work may include helping me:

  • Develop complete Physics units.
  • Build worksheets and activities.
  • Review existing curriculum.
  • Help develop complete Physics courses.

There is significant opportunity for increased responsibility for the right person.

Payment

Initial work will generally be paid per completed worksheet/project, with the expected compensation roughly equivalent to $5–$10 USD per hour, depending on the complexity of the work and your efficiency.

I am open to increasing the rate for someone who consistently produces excellent work, demonstrates strong Physics knowledge, and can take on more responsibility over time.
