Are you a licensed Mechanical Engineer with strong technical grounding in HVAC and electrification systems? We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support permit applications and load calculations for our heat pump electrification projects across California.
This is a project-based role working closely with our permitting and engineering team on utility and AHJ submissions.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and submitting permit applications and inspections to utilities and AHJs.
2. Performing Manual J load calculations for residential heat pump and electrification projects.
3. Reviewing electrical and mechanical specifications for code and utility compliance
4. Reviewing plan sets, data sheets, and layouts for accuracy and compliance.
5. Supporting project managers with work-in-progress tracking, schedule monitoring, and installation progress updates.
Qualifications:
1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. Working knowledge of Manual J load calculations and California permitting/AHJ requirements.
3. Familiarity with heat pump systems, electrification retrofits, or HVAC design a strong plus.
4. Comfortable reviewing technical drawings, data sheets, and equipment specs.
5. Able to work independently on a project basis with clear turnaround times.
