About the Role

Technical Marketing & Web Coordinator (Part-Time)
Location: Remote
Hours: 20 hours per week, 9:00am–1:00pm (UK Time)
Working arrangement: Part-time

Overview

Our client is a specialist marketing agency supporting agricultural, rural and other service-based businesses. We are looking for a Technical Marketing & Web Coordinator to work alongside the founder and existing marketing team.

This is primarily an implementation and technical delivery role, rather than a marketing strategy, copywriting or graphic design position. The successful candidate will take approved marketing, website and systems requirements and turn them into reliable, functioning digital solutions.

The role will include website implementation, marketing systems, CRM and email platforms, automations, integrations, analytics and technical troubleshooting across a number of different client accounts. We are looking for someone who is technically confident, organized and able to take ownership of projects without requiring constant direction.

Key Responsibilities

Website Management & Implementation

Update, manage and maintain WordPress websites, primarily using Elementor
Create and edit website pages from supplied briefs, copy and design direction
Build landing pages for campaigns and lead generation
Make responsive adjustments for desktop, tablet and mobile
Upload and format website content
Build and configure website forms
Connect forms with CRM, email marketing and automation platforms
Manage plugins and perform routine website maintenance
Support staging, website backups and migrations where required
Troubleshoot common WordPress and Elementor issues
Make basic CSS adjustments where appropriate
Support integrations with membership, ecommerce and other third-party systems
Carry out basic domain, DNS, SSL and website hosting troubleshooting where appropriate
Test website functionality before work is considered complete

The role does not require advanced bespoke website development or full-stack development. More complex development requirements may be referred to an external specialist.

Marketing Technology & Automation

Set up and manage email marketing and CRM systems
Build email nurture sequences and automated customer journeys
Create and manage automations and workflows
Connect systems using Zapier or comparable integration platforms
Troubleshoot failed automations and integrations
Configure forms, tags, lists, segments and triggers
Test automation journeys before launch
Identify opportunities to improve the reliability or efficiency of existing systems
Document important workflows and integrations so they can be understood and maintained by the wider team

Analytics, Tracking & Digital Systems

Implement and maintain basic website analytics and tracking
Support Google Analytics, Search Console and similar platforms
Implement Meta pixels and other basic marketing tracking requirements
Support Google Business Profile and related digital platforms when required
Carry out basic technical SEO implementation where appropriate
Troubleshoot account connections, permissions and system errors across client marketing platforms

Technical Problem Solving

Investigate and resolve practical technical problems across client systems
Diagnose the likely source of an issue rather than simply following instructions
Research unfamiliar platforms or problems where appropriate
Explain technical issues clearly and simply to non-technical team members and clients
Recognise when an issue requires specialist support and escalate it promptly rather than spending excessive time attempting to solve something outside the scope of the role

Project Management & Working Practices

Strong project management and communication are an important part of this role. The successful candidate will be expected to:

Review requirements before beginning significant pieces of work
Provide realistic estimates of the likely time required where appropriate
Raise concerns if work is likely to exceed the original time estimate
Keep assigned Asana tasks accurate and up to date
Record progress, blockers and next steps clearly
Communicate promptly when access, information or client input is preventing progress
Escalate technical problems early if significant investigation is not producing progress
Work systematically rather than allowing technical troubleshooting to become open-ended
Test and quality-check work before marking tasks as complete
Document important technical changes, integrations and configurations

Examples of quality assurance may include checking: desktop, tablet and mobile website layouts; website links and buttons; forms and submissions; automated email s; CRM records; integrations; tracking; permissions and user journeys.

Essential Skills & Experience

We are more interested in strong technical ability and transferable experience than experience with every specific platform used. Candidates should have:

Strong practical experience with WordPress
Strong working knowledge of Elementor
Experience creating and editing website pages
Experience troubleshooting WordPress websites
Experience with website forms and integrations
Experience using at least one established CRM or email marketing platform
Experience building email automations or automated workflows
Experience using Zapier or a comparable integration platform
Basic understanding of website analytics and marketing tracking
Good general understanding of how websites, forms, CRMs, email systems and third-party platforms connect
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Confidence working independently on project-based tasks
Strong written communication
The ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical people

Platforms You May Work With

Existing systems currently include or may include: WordPress, Elementor, MailerLite, Kit, Zoho, Keap, AWeber, Zapier, MemberPress, CloudCampaign, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, Meta Business Suite, Asana, Google Workspace.

Experience with every platform listed is not required. Someone with strong transferable technical skills who is confident learning unfamiliar platforms would be considered.

Useful Additional Experience

It would be advantageous to have experience with: membership websites, ecommerce websites, CRM migrations, domain and DNS management, website hosting environments, staging websites and migrations, basic CSS, Meta Business Suite, marketing pixels and conversion tracking, basic technical SEO, supporting several different client accounts simultaneously, and working within a marketing agency or outsourced marketing environment.

Ideal Candidate

The right person is likely to be: technically curious and confident; a practical problem-solver; comfortable investigating unfamiliar problems; able to work independently without becoming isolated; organised and systematic; reliable with deadlines and communication; realistic about how long work will take; comfortable flagging a problem or asking for help early; able to distinguish between productive troubleshooting and spending too much time on an issue; detail-oriented when testing their own work; happy working across several different client systems; able to communicate technical information simply and clearly.

We particularly value someone with a "figure it out, test it and communicate it" mindset.

What This Role Is Not

This role is not primarily responsible for: marketing strategy, copywriting, graphic design, social media content creation, advanced bespoke website development, full-stack development, general diary or inbox management, or general virtual-assistant work. Marketing strategy, copywriting and creative direction are handled elsewhere within the team.

The Technical Marketing & Web Coordinator's primary responsibility is the technical implementation and reliable delivery of approved marketing activity.
