Product Manager — Shopify E-Commerce Store Launch

Job Description

We are launching a new Australian furniture e-commerce store, Simply Furniture, and are looking for an experienced and highly accountable Product Manager to manage the complete launch of our Shopify store.

This is a one-month launch project.

The goal is simple: the Shopify store must be fully complete, tested and ready to launch within 30 days.

You will manage a small remote team consisting of two Shopify Specialists and will work directly with the business owner.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the entire project gets completed — not simply coordinating meetings or creating task lists.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

Create and maintain a 30-day launch plan
Break the project into clear tasks and milestones
Assign work to the two Shopify Specialists
Establish daily and weekly production targets
Monitor progress closely
Ensure deadlines are met
Identify bottlenecks and solve them
Ensure the team remains productive
Coordinate work between both Shopify Specialists
Maintain a project/task management system
Provide regular progress reports to the business owner

Product Catalogue Management

Oversee the complete product upload process
Establish standards for product titles, descriptions, images, variants, pricing, tags and collections
Coordinate products from Dropshipzone and AliExpress
Ensure products are correctly categorised and presented
Review product quality and consistency
Ensure unsuitable or problematic products are identified rather than blindly uploaded

Shopify Store Management

Oversee Shopify configuration
Ensure collections, navigation, filters and product organisation are completed
Ensure the Shopify theme and storefront are properly configured
Ensure the store works correctly on desktop and mobile
Ensure required apps and integrations are configured
Identify and resolve configuration issues

Shipping & Supplier Configuration

Oversee shipping profiles
Shipping zones
Shipping rates
Supplier locations
Dropshipzone configuration
AliExpress configuration
Product-to-shipping-profile assignments
Shipping testing
Multi-supplier scenarios

Quality Assurance

Regularly review completed work
Check products for accuracy
Check pricing, variants and images
Check collections and navigation
Check shipping
Test cart and checkout
Test mobile and desktop
Identify broken or incomplete areas
Create corrective tasks and ensure they are completed

ACCOUNTABILITY

This position is accountable for the project being completed within 30 days.

We are not looking for someone who simply waits for instructions from the business owner.

You are expected to:

Take ownership
Identify what needs to be done
Create tasks when necessary
Direct the Shopify Specialists
Solve problems independently
Escalate only genuine business decisions
Keep the project moving
Ensure nothing falls through the cracks

The business owner should not need to manage the Shopify Specialists directly.

You will be the primary point of contact between the owner and the Shopify team.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

You must have strong experience with:

Shopify themes and store configuration

Experience with Dropshipzone and AliExpress is highly desirable.

Experience with furniture/homewares e-commerce is a major advantage.

Nothing should be left unfinished because "it wasn't part of the task list." You are expected to identify what is required to make the store launch-ready.
