Job Description

We are launching a new Australian furniture e-commerce store, Simply Furniture, and are looking for an experienced Shopify Specialist to join our launch team.

This is a one-month full-time project.

We have a Product Manager and will hire two Shopify Specialists who will work together to completely build and prepare the store for launch.

The goal is to have a fully functional, professional and launch-ready Shopify store within 30 days.

This is not simply a product-entry position.

We need someone who understands Shopify from end to end and can handle products, suppliers, shipping, store configuration, design, collections, navigation, apps, testing and troubleshooting.

PRODUCTS

Import and add products
Work with Dropshipzone products
Work with AliExpress products
Create and edit product listings
Write and clean product titles
Edit product descriptions
Upload and organise product images
Configure product variants
Configure SKUs
Configure product types
Add tags
Assign collections
Set pricing
Apply pricing/margin rules
Check product information
Remove unnecessary supplier information
Ensure products are presented professionally
Apply basic product SEO
Identify poor-quality or unsuitable products

SHOPIFY STORE CONFIGURATION

Configure Shopify settings
Configure collections
Configure product categories
Configure navigation and menus
Configure product templates
Configure filters
Configure search
Configure store settings
Configure Shopify apps
Configure supplier locations
Configure inventory settings
Configure product organisation

SHIPPING

You must be comfortable configuring Shopify shipping, including:

Shipping profiles
Shipping zones
Shipping rates
Free shipping rules
Product-specific shipping
Supplier-specific shipping
Location-based shipping
Assigning products to shipping profiles
Testing shipping calculations
Troubleshooting shipping issues

SUPPLIER & DROPSHIPPING CONFIGURATION

Inventory synchronisation
Product synchronisation where applicable
Supplier shipping requirements
Multi-supplier product configuration

STORE DESIGN

You will also be expected to make changes to the Shopify storefront where required.

This includes:

Theme configuration
Sections
Product page layouts
Collection layouts
Homepage sections
Navigation
Typography/layout adjustments
Product presentation
Mobile optimisation
Desktop optimisation
General storefront improvements

You do not need to be a professional graphic designer, but you must have a strong eye for a clean, professional e-commerce store.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

You will be expected to test your own work.

This includes:

Product testing
Variant testing
Pricing checks
Collection checks
Shipping tests
Cart testing
Checkout testing
Mobile testing
Desktop testing
Broken-link checks
Image checks
General storefront QA

WORKING WITH THE TEAM

You will work alongside:

Product Manager

Responsible for project management, priorities, deadlines and accountability.

Second Shopify Specialist

You will work collaboratively with another Shopify Specialist to complete the store.

You should be comfortable sharing knowledge, improving processes and helping the team complete work efficiently.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

You must have strong practical experience with:

Shopify
Shopify product management
Shopify store configuration
Shopify themes
Shopify shipping
E-commerce
Product imports
Dropshipping

Experience with Dropshipzone and AliExpress is strongly preferred.

Experience with furniture/homewares stores is a major advantage.

You will be expected to contribute to all areas required to achieve this goal.

We are not looking for someone who says:

"That's not my job."

If you see something that needs to be completed to launch the Shopify store, raise it with the Product Manager and help get it completed.
