About the Role

We are looking for an experienced e-commerce / dropshipping product researcher who can consistently find strong, data-backed products with potential to launch and scale in Japan.

This is not a role for sending random trending products from a spy tool. You will research broadly, analyze the numbers behind opportunities, then aggressively filter them down to the strongest products worth testing.

What you’ll do

  • Use tools such as Trendtrack, AdSpy, Meta Ad Library, and competitor/store research tools.
  • Find around 20 initial product opportunities per day; filter these to at least 5 highly qualified opportunities.
  • Identify competitor brands already succeeding in other markets and assess opportunities for Japan.
  • Submit product name/type, niche, competitor store link, spy-tool link, estimated monthly visitors, selling price, estimated revenue where available, seasonality, relevant competitors, and supporting data.

What a strong opportunity looks like

  • Existing market awareness and meaningful market potential.
  • Approximately ¥12,000+ selling price and potential for 60–65% gross margin.
  • Highly visual: clear demonstrations, before/after potential, obvious mechanism or benefits that work in video.
  • High perceived value, not easily available locally, and enough creative/angle elasticity to scale.
  • Evidence of traction: meaningful or growing traffic/revenue, multiple successful competitors, active ad spend, and substantial creative volume.

You should have experience researching winning dropshipping/DTC products, evaluating stores (not just products), using ad/product spy tools, and making decisions from traffic, revenue, and advertising signals. You should be fast, thorough, and naturally ask: “What evidence tells me this product is actually working?”

This can become a long-term role. When applying, briefly explain your prior dropshipping/e-commerce research experience, the tools you use, and examples of how you judge whether a product is worth testing.
