ELECTRICAL & SERVICES ESTIMATOR / TAKE-OFF SPECIALIST

Remote / Online Position | Flexible Hours | Ongoing Work
We are looking for an experienced Estimating & Take-Off Specialist to join our team in an ongoing remote position.
The role will be responsible for reviewing plans, drawings, specifications and project documentation to complete accurate material take-offs, labour allowances and detailed quotations across a range of electrical and building services projects.
Areas of Estimating
The successful applicant will ideally have experience across a combination of the following:

• Electrical estimating & take-offs
• Civil works / electrical civil works
• HVAC / Mechanical services
• Dry Fire / Fire Detection
• CCTV & Security Systems
• Solar PV & Battery Systems
• Cable and containment take-offs
• Switchboards, lighting, power and general electrical services
• Commercial, industrial and residential projects

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural, electrical and services drawings
• Complete detailed quantity and material take-offs
• Measure cables, conduits, cable tray, containment, equipment and accessories
• Identify required labour, materials, plant and equipment
• Review project specifications and scope of works
• Identify inclusions, exclusions, assumptions and potential variations
• Prepare professional and accurate quotations and estimates
• Obtain and compare supplier pricing where required
• Assist with value engineering and alternative options
• Identify discrepancies or missing information within drawings and documentation
• Produce clear pricing breakdowns suitable for submission to builders, clients and contractors
• Work closely with our management and project teams to ensure pricing is accurate and commercially viable

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who is:

• Experienced in construction estimating and take-offs
• Highly confident reading plans, drawings and specifications
• Experienced in preparing electrical and/or building services quotations
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Extremely detail-oriented and accurate
• Commercially minded and understands construction costs
• Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
• Confident using estimating, take-off and PDF/drawing software
• Excellent written English and communication skills
• Comfortable working remotely and communicating online with our team

Desirable Experience
Experience working for an electrical contractor, building services contractor, construction company or estimating consultancy would be highly regarded.
Experience across multiple disciplines such as electrical, HVAC, fire, security, CCTV, solar and civil works will be a major advantage.
The Role
This is an ongoing online/remote position suited to someone who enjoys estimating and wants to work with a growing contracting business.
Work will include both smaller residential/commercial projects and larger commercial/industrial projects, with the opportunity for ongoing work for the right person.
We are particularly interested in someone who can take a project from plans → take-off → costing → final quotation with a high level of accuracy.
