Dorm Room Movers helps colleges, universities, students, and families simplify the moving, storage, and shipping experience. We partner with colleges and prep schools across the United States to provide convenient, professionally managed solutions for students during move-in, move-out, and throughout the academic year.

We’re looking for a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to help expand our network of school partners and build the next generation of relationships for Dorm Room Movers.

The Opportunity

As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be responsible for identifying prospective college and university partners, reaching the right decision-makers, and starting conversations that create new business opportunities.

This is an outbound-focused role for someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, writing effective email s, researching prospects, and consistently following up.

You won’t just be working from a list. We want someone who can think strategically about accounts, identify the right contacts, and find creative ways to get conversations started.

What You'll Do

Prospect colleges and prep schools across the United States through phone, email , LinkedIn, and other outbound channels
Research prospective institutions and identify relevant decision-makers
Generate qualified meetings and sales opportunities
Build and maintain a consistent outbound prospecting pipeline
Develop personalized outreach rather than relying solely on generic sequences
Follow up persistently and professionally with prospective partners
Maintain accurate prospect and activity information in our Sales CRM (Pipedrive)
Work closely with sales leadership to prioritize accounts and improve outreach strategies
Track outreach activity, meetings generated, conversion rates, and other BDR KPIs
Test new messaging, prospecting approaches, and channels to improve results

What We're Looking For
Previous BDR, SDR, inside sales, business development, or outbound prospecting experience preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable making outbound calls and initiating conversations with people you don't know
Organized and disciplined with follow-up
Ability to research accounts and identify the right contacts
Competitive, goal-oriented, and motivated by measurable results
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Experience working with a CRM and sales prospecting tools
Coachable and willing to continuously improve your sales approach

Experience selling to colleges, universities, education organizations, or other B2B organizations is a plus, but not required.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role isn't measured simply by the number of calls or email s you send. We're looking for someone who consistently turns outbound activity into meaningful conversations and qualified opportunities.

You'll be expected to build a healthy pipeline of prospective university partners and consistently generate qualified meetings for our sales team.
