People-Focused Virtual Assistant for Growing Online Coaching Business
Confidential employer
Are you the person who's genuinely good with people?
I'm a UK-based Career Coach running a growing online coaching business, community and programmes. I have a growing online audience and I'm looking for a switched-on VA to help turn that attention into real conversations and growth.
You'll be messaging people from my LinkedIn profile, in my voice, as me. You won’t just be talking to anyone; you’ll be speaking with some senior and director-level professionals and leaders in their roles. That takes trust on my side and care on yours, so excellent written communication and judgement are essential.
You don't need to have been an appointment setter in your previous role. I'll teach you my method. What I can't teach is being naturally curious about people. If you do have previous setting experience, that's a bonus, as long as you're open to learning a different approach.
This is not a high-volume, copy-and-paste DM role. I want someone who takes the time to understand people, asks good questions and knows when to keep a conversation going rather than rushing to a pitch.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Starting conversations with relevant new LinkedIn followers, connections and people engaging with my content
- Building relationships through DMs and asking thoughtful questions to understand people's situations and goals
- Learning my method for identifying opportunities, booking calls and directing people to agreed next steps
- Following up with warm leads and re-engaging older leads and conversations
- Keeping conversations, follow-ups and opportunities organised so nothing falls through the cracks
- Researching and pitching relevant podcasts, YouTube channels, newsletters, communities and partnerships
- Proactively identifying other opportunities to grow the business and reach more of the right people
- Suggesting improvements when you spot a more effective way of doing something
- Using AI for research and support while keeping conversations natural and human
To do well in this role, you need to be:
- Warm, friendly and genuinely interested in people
- Curious and a good listener
- Proactive and resourceful: you spot opportunities and take ownership rather than waiting to be told
- Highly coachable and willing to learn, receive feedback and improve
- Detail-oriented and organised
- An excellent written English communicator
- Able to spot an opportunity without being pushy
- Persistent and resilient: rejection or silence doesn't discourage you or stop you from trying again
- Comfortable using AI without relying on it to communicate for you
- Open and reliable communicator: communicates clearly and proactively if they’re unavailable, unable to complete something, or need support.
We're a small team with a kind, supportive culture. We care about each other, the business and the people we help, and I'm looking for someone who wants to contribute to that.
Required skills and experience:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Virtual Assistant OR in an online customer-facing, community, support, sales or growth role
- Strong written English
- Comfortable communicating with people online
- Strong online research skills
- Comfortable learning new tools and systems
- Tech-savvy and resourceful, especially when it comes to finding another way to get something done when a tool or system doesn't work
Bonus skills:
- DM setting, appointment setting or lead generation
- LinkedIn outreach or inbox management
- Experience supporting a coach, consultant or personal brand
- Podcast, YouTube or partnership outreach
- CRM or pipeline management
If you haven't done DM setting before but think you'd be brilliant at talking to people and are excited to learn, I still want to hear from you.
Work schedule
Part-time: 4 hours per day / 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday.
You should be available to work from 1pm UK time onwards.
Salary
$400 USD/month to start, with the goal of moving to full-time for the right person.
To apply:
Start your application with “I'M YOUR PEOPLE-FIRST VA” and answer these four questions:
1. Imagine someone you've been chatting to sends you this message:
“Honestly I'm exhausted. Work has been really frustrating lately and I feel like I'm putting in so much effort without getting anywhere.”
Write the exact message you would send back.
2. Tell me about a time you were given responsibility for something without being told exactly how to do it. How did you approach it, and what was the outcome?
3. What are you looking for in your next role, and what would make you want to stay with a company long-term?
4. Why do you think you'd be a great fit for this role?
Please answer in your own words. I'm interested in how you naturally think and communicate, not a perfectly polished or AI-written application.
